Some mails im getting from men are more like a sales pitch than a start of a conversation.the info is on their profiles yet they still feel the need to describe themselves fully in a mail the tell you what they are gonna do to you...all in a first mail.this drives me mad.please say im not alone here ladies ???

Not at all....when a guy mails with an interesting mail it will be replied to.a guy who sells himself with a copy and paste sales pitch will be deleted.

Well to be honest its really hard to start a convo over internet as you dont know what the other person is in to, i say anyone should be given bit of time to express him/herself....if there is any physical connection

exactly, plus I know from the experience that there are ladies and couples that do not read my profile carefully enough, which results in unpleasant surprises.

I read the profile, if they're receptive to single guys, i'll send a polite message. I really think i'm crap at opening messages, so I prefer to interact with people on he forum first so that my message can be something related to what was discussed there.

Those who I message that i dont interact with on the forums are more difficult. "how are you" and "how are you finding the site" are cliched and i try to avoid them...but when you really dont know what else to say it can be tough.

I usually go with something truthful like "hi there, i read your profile, and you sound very interesting and i'd like to get to know you better, would you like to chat sometime"

does that work? more often than not....no. but the ones that do reply, i usually end up having great conversations with, and have wound up having great craic with.

The people I've become friends with here have had a positive influence on me, and how I use the site, and i'm grateful for that.

Would have to agree here...

I have only joined here recently and so far I've seen so many differing views on what men are doing wrong or what they should do...

Men take a battering for being direct 'Giz a ride' or 'fancy a shag' and rightly so but to go put the extra effort in and be accused of it being a sales pitch is a bit of double standards IMO.

Sounds like you need to have a 6 pack profile pic and an exact secret amount of characters per message to be in with a chance of a reply on here...

Maybe the next step is disable men from sending message and they can only reply to women when 'chosen'?

it's hard to start a conversation with someone you don't know tbh and I respond more as said above to people I've maybe chatted to in the forum as you maybe have something to chat about to make a message relevant... and of course everyone has their own"horns and haloes", but if someone sends us a polite witty or pleasant message I think it's only courtesy to respond ... and really you are trying to sell yourself to the person you're messaging as obviously you wouldnt be messaging if you hadn't looked at their profile and thought they were interesting. Though sometimes it's hard to catchup and messages drop off the screen before you even get to them

When we first joined we had our filters open to males and the majority of them were nice and polite....and i tried my best to reply to them all....tbh i dont know how you's ladies do it....hard work...I think there is a difference between a cut and paste and someone who has taken the time to write a nice message...i do feel sorry for the nice genuine guys on here though that do take the time...being on the forum has made it so much easier for us to make friends etc with guys without the whole message stress lol.......that is kept for a select few ....(pink)

I just chat to people, treat them like humans. Can't imagine using a copy and paste template or sales pitch to get chatting.

It is easier to pm a forumite I've nattered too already as conversation has occurred on a thread usually. When messaging a lady from viewing a profile I try to craft something original, can be hard to do just working off profile text. Sometimes I get a response, sometimes not. What'll be will be

Not only we get hard times but also hard ons and we really need help with that situation. Haha.

We are not so bad I guess. We try to please and to be pleased. We are all different, so will approach the matter from a different angle. Good thing is if we try politely. If we do, please appreciate it. Guide us if your profile description on what you like and how you like being approached.

I tried starting a conversation or the sales message (as you called it) and both worked, all depends on the couples I was getting in touch with.

Let us all just relax and have a good time, because this is why we are all here. To realise fantasies and to have good time. If we are lucky, we might even meet great sex friends or maybe even friends.

You have the right idea... It's not about crafting fake bullshit mails because most women see through it immediately... It's about being yourself and accepting that we are all unique thus attracting and having an attraction to many different people it's the yes or no of the reciprocation that annoys men and then starts the whole I'm fucked if I do and fucked if I don't forum topics

I think it's fair to say, 99% of the time, mailing someone is at best a lottery but more likely a waste of time, I will not contact couples anymore and tbh it would take a seriously amazing profile to get me to try initiate a conversation with a woman either anymore. It doesn't really matter how much thought, or effort you put into an opening mail and this thread is an example of exactly why! Too much effort is seen as a sales pitch, not enough is seen as lazy. In the end if will come down to conversation and getting to know someone but trying to do that by PM is a complete shot in the dark. Interaction on the forum or in chat is the only real way, messaging profiles is pointless IMHO!
