Not everyone is a regular to the forums and it should not be used as a sole means of communication. While the cancellation was posted in there, an email to all confirmed might have been useful. That all said, I am sure the organisers had considered sufficient notice had been given. Anyone going should have sought confirmation in the days leading up to the event.
