We are really sorry to be posting this but we have been left with no option but to cancel the meet & greet in Carlow
As some of you may be already aware this event has made the front page of The Carlow Nationalist , we respect everyone's privacy and we do not want to expose anyone to unwanted attention
We apologise to everyone who was coming , please make sure you cancel your room's

Ok ppl anit no1 fucki this up. We all have hawiian clothes lets just take over a beach somewhere and bring our own drink. WE HAVE THE WEATHER FOR IT tents camp fire singsong what do yiz think ??? |

Who ever sold out and told the paper this needs to be seriously ashamed of themselves.
If the paper bothered to actually investigate what a swing social is they would know that it's a group of people having drinks and what ever happens in their hotel room is their own business.
It's no different to any vanilla night out or wedding or function apart from the fact that we are more open about saying we all love sex.

Having attended my first meet and greet in Newry I couldn't agree more. Think they would be very disappointed if they were invited to one themselves and found out it was just what it says 'a social' |

We r all devastated both digger and myself were at new allocated hotel when someone messaged to say it was on front of local paper!
We got the paper and just went "holy fuck"!!!
So we decided at that stage it was out of our hands we wouldn't like anyone to have that kind of unwanted attention at the end of the day we all have our "normal "lives . . .
So we can't be more sorry we hate lettin anyone down 
This has been in the plannin for months we have put alot of time and effort it and all for nothing now!

Shame this has happened again there was two last year in Galway and Waterford earlier this year now carlow makes u think how small minded some are
lolli has the right idea pm each other and arrange a private gathering
after the work digger and tomalu have put in with the excitement of a night out building u could still pull it off and have a ball sometimes the nights that aren't planned are best |

This is a total disgrace, I hope the people/person who did this will get whats coming to them!
We r all consenting adults in this & doing nothing wrong or illegal! Immoral maybe in some peoples eyes..lol...but they all small minded.
We r gutted for Digger & his other organisers who have put so much work into organising this, we won't let this quench our zest for life or our wkend of fun so lets all get behind the organisers & let the spoil sports be shown they won't win.  |

I've been to many many m and g's and had a great time. I remember at one there was a 21st or similar being held in a function room nearby and a fight broke out and the cops had to be called. I was at another meet in a different hotel a year before that and the cops had to come break up a fight between randomers in the hotel.
Do you think I've ever seems 'trouble' or reason for concern for members of the public at an m and g? No friggin way I have!!  |

No harm at all, infact I tell my friends coz they all know that I swing, that I find the thoughts of pulling a regular guy in a nightclub mad! I know nothing about him and no know one that he was with so no one can vouch he's a nice guy!

Its a load of crap.
Some experienced swinger contacted the paper and told them about it and said
"ordinary people should not have to put up with parties like that he has them in his own home with his wife in private"

It's a shame that someone was disgruntled enough to ruin this event!
If you all do decide to carry on and go ahead with another plan, don't forget, whoever did this is still in the background!!
Somebody obviously knows the 'Rat' but is unaware of them...

Might not be the right place but, would it be good or possible to have a secure members area that is for people that meet certain criteria, like length of membership, paid membership, number of veris and vouched by current secure member.
I know it couldn't be perfect but it would have to be better than any tom dick or harry who can set up a profile and read, and probably put 2 and 2 together. The thing we have to remember is that some people here are not swingers they are here to act the bollix with fake profiles. They have no intention of ever swinging.
Obviously fab would have to start it would a number of secure members and they would have to vouch anyone else after that. |

I think that's a great idea... we do need to keep the meets private.. no more advertising the locations n dates.. the forum is not the best place anymore to arrange things.
Would Fab be interested in setting up another secure area on this site? Prob not... we may have to do it ourselfs with kik or emails... n again be very selective who gets an invite.
It might b a case of each area having a local meet first..to out the messers.. if someone's not bothered to meet locally..their not gonna meet in a bigger group. |

I'm so sorry to hear this and gutted for all concerned. If anyone had of told me how much work was involved in organizing one off these event I would have said no way it is that bad but it bloody is!!! My nerves in the last week were shot to pieces.
I hope these jealous small minded people don't put you off because at the end of the day you were doing this for others benefit and deserve great credit for organizing it. Keep up the good work. |

Sure you don't need to be a member at all to read the discussions on the forum. I'm quite sure any journalist could have written whatever is in that article without having to get information from any member here. Mind you, I haven't seen the article either so I can't be sure of that, but there's a serious danger of some "Salem witch trial" type happenings here at the moment.  |

Im gutted with the way things they end up after all the work done so people could enjoy another great night.
Was looking forward to this one as was the 1st one in long time we would go and enjoy without the stress to organize.
I know the feeling of the organizers as same happen with us last year with the burlesque party.
And if someone decide come to brittas beach let us know as we are just 15 in away. |

I think that's a great idea... we do need to keep the meets private.. no more advertising the locations n dates.. the forum is not the best place anymore to arrange things.
Would Fab be interested in setting up another secure area on this site? Prob not... we may have to do it ourselfs with kik or emails... n again be very selective who gets an invite.
It might b a case of each area having a local meet first..to out the messers.. if someone's not bothered to meet locally..their not gonna meet in a bigger group. "

Once a site has free membership you will have messers and less than desirables. Press will pay for membership so a secure site won't add anything. While it is reprehensible that someone leaked has it become more likely as these events are getting bigger and bigger? We have the catch 22 of moving something mainstream while many of those attending want to remain understandably anonymous.

Oh my God, that's AWFUL!! Stupid fucking media, why can't they fucking stay out of people's lives??! We weren't going to the party ourselves but I know the planning that goes into organising to get there, not to mention the work that has to be done by the organisers!!
It's fucking ridiculous!! And sadly there's no way to stop the media from nosing on the site! That thick bitch on the Late Late Show a few weeks ago brought attention to swingers and now the media will hone in on it at any opportunity!! Newspapers put stuff in papers that they believe will sell. The media is a symptom rather than the whole issue. It's a societal thing, and religion isn't the whole problem either. I'm still curious about the article itself. Did it have details that could only come from an insider? Did it know the venue, for example. Mind you, Carlow isn't that big, so I'm sure a local hack could make a couple of educated guesses? |
