It depends, if ur a person who cares what other people think then it probally is, if ur a person that dont really care what peopke think no its not too big. As long as the two people are good for one another and are happy thats whats is important.

Mates sister is probably a bigger problem than the age tbh. At 23 she is old enough to make her own mistakes |

My first thought would be "how much do I value my 'mates' friendship".
If it's of any value, let her admire you from afar. |

I'd agree with pure...20+ years of a gap might be a little much. But fab related or not...its not really the age, both parties have to be mature enough to handle it. I've met 20 somethings that are more emotionally mature than some 40 somethings |

"oh I know that about being too close to home it was one of the reasons I said no but it got me thinking about the age gap is all"
Well in that case, you're the older one so you need to be aware that she is only starting her journey & it may not be what she still wants in a years time. One would think that at 35 you have at least got an idea of your direction in life, she won't be in the same place for a while so the longevity of the relationship may depend on your patience. |

Exactly this. Went out with an 18 yr old when I was 26...and this pretty much summed it up |

Of course there's lots of fun to be had whilst waiting... PMA guys, PMA!
Of course, add 10 to each age & it's a different ball game. |

Have to say that is a very good question. And I self am also guilty of it. But in my case we had it at 55 but a few people we met were way above that maybe 65 people lie on profile for many reasons so why don't you just a wee thought to by pass it. Yeah I know my bad |

My age on here is 38 but I'm told I don't look a day over 30, would I have more success if I lowered my age? |

Depends on what each of you want from it.
I had a bonking buddy/casual relationship, we were never going to get romantic, the exact same ages as you are talking about there,a 13 yr difference but she had had a releationship with a guy older than me before and also she is very intelligent and mature minded.
It was great and it fizzled out after a year or so.Each of us moved on and have no issues with any of it.
I've dated a friends older sister for a short while,it was good but we had different needs and it went nowhere but we get on well these days.
I had a hot and steamy,on and off thing in my mid 20's with my best friends younger sister,it didn't end well but she fights with everyone, her own family, her ex husband. The odd thing about that was that she ad the same colour eyes as my friend and that was weird. So once the eye colour is different it's easier.
Now in my late 40's,I would have no problem dating seriously 20 yrs below my age and maybe 5 yr's older depending on how healthy the woman is.
As for a casual bonking buddy or a once off shag,I'd go for any age above 27 once the personality was mature and the attraction is there. |
