Totally agree. I do realise that women/couples get a lot more mail, but when we had the couples profile going we always tried to reply, even if it was a "thanks but no thanks" |

I agree that it's nice to be nice, but a lot of times I'll reply saying 'thanks for the mail but in not meeting anyone new right now', I get guys saying 'oh let's chat and I'll change your mind'. Ehhh no you won't! Some, not all guys, take any reply as an indication you're interested so it's a catch 22 situation sometimes.  |

In my opinion it doesn't really matter if you get a reply or not. A reply to say thanks but no thanks or just ignoring are both rejection and nobody likes rejection. Just some handle it better than others, so even though trying to be polite it will still go down the same way  |

its a hard 1 to call id say esp for women on here as i can just imagine how many messages they get. hard to reply to them all. its nice to be nice and reply but its nice to get a message where someone makes an effort in their message. you can see the long copy and pasted messages as you can also see the 1 liners which are just daft. if im sending a message i try to read the profile of the people and try to make it relevent to that profile. then if you get a reply or not atleast you know u made the beat shot at it. |

I'd much prefer rejection in an msg than silence. I go to the effort of reading through profiles to the end and if they are not looking for guys then i don't msg. My msg aren't degrading and I've taken the time to right them same as i do when sending my business emails so when i don't get a reply i just think "I'm too lazy and I couldn't be arsed" . I'd be much happier for people to be honest and say " I'm not interested ur not my cuppa tea" |

As long as the person who has sent the message in the first place has done so with good manners, having read the profile and shows respect, then it is nice to have that respect and good manners reciprocated with a reply, even if just to say "Thanks but no thanks"!
I don't understand why Fab don't provide "one-click" templates to do standard replies. Surely that would at least reduce the frustration felt by all sides on this issue? |

I put a lot of thought into messaging someone. I have never used any derogatory or degrading terms towards women so it does annoy me when someone doesnt reply. I even go to the bother of spell checking!!, but that's just me. I do like an intelligent conversation as that's what's looked for when I read a profile ...to the end, so when I dont get a reply i find it highly disrepectful. Not including all present company by the way as I notice, people that dont reply rarely use the forums, which leads me to believe that these people wouldn't be worth meeting as conversations would be as plentiful as the bananas on my banana tree in my back garden, which also leads me to believe that this rant is pointed aimlessly at no one as it's all very intelligent conversational who reply who are on here. By the way don't try to find a spelling mistake. I have checked. Tanks. |

People that don't reply rarely use the forums so they wouldn't be worth meeting??? So there's only a handful of people worth meeting.......the forum is after all a very small part of the site. |
