A friend of mine works for a business that has slowed down. They were given the option of a 4 day week or somebody has to go. They opted for the former as it's better to have some work or none at all. |

Nice that they stuck together, I wonder is it easier ir harder to make that decision in a small company. |

A lot of hard thinking needs to be done by the employees of Bausch&Lomb.
A 20% pay cut is huge and each individual has to decide can they live/pat mortgage/school expenses etc on such a big take home decrease.
But what are the alternatives - try find a new job or go on social welfare. Some of the employees interviewed on the news said they'd been there 15+ years and its hard to leave something you've known for so long.
Like I said, not a nice situation to find yourself in and my sympathy to any of those that do |

This was a small company, and hopefully things will turn around again for them meaning they have kept skilled workers. I guess in a bigger company the make the decision for you rather than giving the option. |
