It depends - if I'm at work it's on site. If I'm at home it's about 10 minute drive

5 minutes away and from my experience of a 12 hour wait and another day an 18 hour wait. I couldn't recommend.

Mine is only couple minutes. Problem with a&e is a lot go there for trivial stuff. ( not implying anyone on here does). My son was brought to a&e by his school once for feeling light headed. When I got there I took him to gp instead where he should have been brought and seen to faster.

Last two visits to A &E i was seen within mins of arrival mind u i was unconscious both times second time arriving in an ambulance

have also done the waiting game but usually go to the gp before heading there

and no drink or other substances involved in any visit when u need them they can be very efficient

i know doctors and nurses have lots to do and work long hours but the time i was there there seemed to be to many chatting and laughing, there was a woman tht was there tht had brain cancer ,she was also a diabetic, she was waiting 4 hours to be seen, her mother asked the nurse how much longer cos her mum was a diabetic and needed to take her treatment, the nurse just said,"if she feeling faint she can lie on one of the beds" i think id rather travel a further to get to a hospital and be seen quicker than have one near but have to wait hours and hours!

I don't think you can go just because you're limp!

Well ever since the first contributor to this thread ( fallen-angel69 ) no one has beaten 2 hours , being the length of time to their nearest A & E !!!Surely there are others in parts of the west, midlands , northwest ?? who have to endure as much pain in travelling to their's ????

If you live more than 2 hours from an A and E I think someone's trying to tell you something and it's most certainly time to move!

Dublin

An hour and a half for me. We only have a minor injury unit in our local hospital. People usually just have to die outside the front door, then be transported to the other hospital for the post mortem.

lol..... ".most " didnt include me !!!! Thanks for that.........while I think of it , there was a certain girl on here who just deleted her profile and she couldn't seem to get enough of A & E's so much so that she even travelled to another jurisdiction to be attented to !!! I've been doing a whole lotta head-scratching trying to figure out why but I dont know !!! Perhaps Georgiana or Orgasmic Panther might be able to throw some light on it ????? lol
