My great aunt did my maternal side, pack of thieves, rogues and landowners who changed their name to keep land
my dad did my paternal side, by all accounts my ancestor sat on the throne of England in 1402 |

Also my neighbours great grandad murdered my great great grandad just down the road and was never prosecuted for it

Can get really far back on maternal side but only as far as my grandad on paternal side as we found out after he died that he was adopted and there are no other records  so we have no idea who we are as the family name is the adopted name |

Have managed to get back to 1764 on my mums side and only 1800 on my dads. Found a branch of family that has one of the architects of the damn at Niagara Falls. Also found that I gave a great great aunt who won an academy award in the 40's. |
