Was thinking this would be a fun idea. Just post a time and place and anyone available meets up for a coffee meet at that cafe, kind of meet and greet |

Some people are hip to it, others are not. If you want to be able to afford groceries in 5 years, I’d recommend listening closely to the former and avoiding the latter. Just my two cents.
In order to navigate The New Realities you have to be creative—not just within your particular profession, but in EVERYTHING. Your way of looking at the world will need to become ever more fertile and original. And this isn’t just true for artists, writers, techies, creative directors and CEOs; this is true for EVERYBODY. janitors, receptionists and bus drivers, too. The game has just been ratcheted up a notch.
The old ways are dead. And you need people around you who concur. That means hanging out more with the creative people, the freaks, the real visionaries, than you’re already doing. Thinking more about what their needs are, and responding accordingly. It doesn’t matter what industry we’re talking about—architecture, advertising, petrochemicals— they’re around, they’re easy enough to find if you make the effort, if you’ve got something worthwhile to offer in return. Avoid the dullards; avoid the folk who play it safe. They can’t help you anymore. Their stability model no longer offers that much stability. They are extinct, they are extinction.’
I think the OP's idea is fantastic, spontaneous, and groundbreaking, what a great way to network. |

Great idea! I'm up for it! The only thing I request is that ppl have to be verified! I'm not anti verification. But if they verified it would indicate they more likely too meet! And considering its in a public place we don't want half wits turning up acting the boyos! |

Being verified does not guarentee they will turn I have been stood up by more verified people than not. |

100% agree. But it is our best indication. If you put 2 people in front off you 1 verified the other not every one would choose the verified one. It's only a suggestion |

If you are on here j would assume you are adult

A novel idea and one that could work. I don't think naming a business in a forum post is allowed. Maybe if a twitter account was set up. 24 hours before the gathering a location was posted there. A way of IDing other fabbers may be a way to go, something along the lines of a yellow ribbon or tie. "Hi, I'm LutherLanger, how are you"?
"Hi, I'm sister Mary Mattew......." Not what you want.
I'm in and willing to travel. Any dub fabbers need a lift? No problem. |
