Another thread made me think about this... I think we use emoticons to try and back up how we feel about something we write. E.g. if you tease someone you'd put a  to indicate you're just messing and not serious.
But e.g. this one  looks to me saying hey, I want to bite your ass!! But as it's called grrrrrrr it probably means I'm angry or frustrated??
So how do you use your emoticons and do you think they help avoiding misunderstandings? Should there be more? And if so, what kind? |

I like them but think they can be misunderstood too tho. Even with glasses on I find it hard to see them so mostly likely use the wrong ones! Apologies if I've been giving the wrong signals   |

haha, I can relate to that! A combination of a bit of hard of hearing and still sometimes struggling with different types of accents, I sometimes just nodd or say yes and look like an edjit.
