DUE TO PEOPLE WHO RANG THE VENUE OF THE WATERFORD CITY MEET AND GREET AND TOLD THEM ABOUT OUR PARTY THE VENUE HAS NOW REJECTED OUR PARTY ANYONE WHO HAS PAID FOR ROOMS ARE TOO CONTACT THE VENUE AND SPEAK WITH THE EVENTS MANAGER HE IS AWARE THAT PEOPLE HAVE PAID FOR ROOMS ANYONE WHO HAS PAID DEPOSITS OR PAID IN FULL WILL BE REFUNDED AS SOON AS THE MANAGER POSTS ME OUT THE CHECK FOR THE ROOM WE ARE REALLY REALLY SORRY ABOUT THIS BUT ITS OUT OF OUR CONTROL DUE TOO PEOPLE RATTING US OUT THANKS YOU

the very same thing happened in Galway last summer by the way.

Omg i am so sorry this happened it was tried in Belfast at the meet and greet too but it wasn't successful. There is always some that will spoil it for the others. I hope your not out of pocket and your not to disappointed. You were only trying to do a good thing for the people of the site and your efforts are appreciated.

I think the best thing is tell them up front at new venue.. that's its a swing club....

If they don't like it at least ul know in advance

Another idea.. is get everyone to meet at a location .then drive to place together. .that way no one can snitch

there already blocked the selfish little kids is all they are we tryed and tryed our upmost best to bring waterford a little meet and greet and thats how they repay us for no reason whats so ever sad people out there these days and i have lost out on money for the room i paid it myself but im only getting half of it back but thats not the issue some people dont like us here others do by why on earth ruin it on others

I suspect a venue might be worried about any negative media interest they could in theory bring on themselves could the media find out too...

This happens all the time i ran one last yr and samething happened but club went ahead wit it and they made a packet out of it just depends on the hotel

well our advice dont bother between people backing out then wanting too go then there not also get deposits of them also have 2 venues to be sure a place and only only only alow vertified people go that will cut out half of the mouths out other than that stay clear of it too much time an effort for noting

We are fully refunding your €100.00 room hire and the cheque made to ste will be in the post today to your Wexford address.

All bedrooms cancelled before Friday 2 nd of May will be refunded. This is our normal 24 hour cancellation policy for bedroom cancellations.

We have cancelled your accommodation also.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me

did you not have a name of someone for a birthday celebration for the occassion, dont think the hotel can cancel if room is paid for on the tip of a nasty phone call, its a meet and greet gathering and nothing more, I am sure we have a solicitor on the site who can verify the legality of a venue cancelling the room at the 12th hour, I would be intrigued to know.

Really sad to see this but it's common place, for publicised events to be outted nowdays, in fact similar has happened at every recent event I can think of. You've just been unlucky that the venue of the M&G bottled it. No one could appreciate the amount of work you've undoubtedly put in already and the financial loss is the least of it.....it's gut wrenching when it happens. Regroup, restructure and ou'll come back from it with a big two fingers to the small minded loser's that ruined it for you...... D

Several of us tried to organise a large scale event last year, though I wasn't one of the one's publicising it. The venue of that one, was to be kept secret until very shortly beforehand. Within 2 weeks of it being announced, I had people telling me the name of the venue? Over a month before it was due to take place. I think the problem largely, is that people have to know about accommodation....obviously that identifies an area relatively close and often then it is possible to guess the venue quite easily.

Catch 22, people need information but information gets passed on, often unwittingly.

Maybe ikandi could be a good idea...

At least they would be happy to host it... it depends on the price of course..

Its far but maybe booking a bus or 2 to ferry everyone there n back.. n people can book rooms in Waterford for when they are back...if they need too.

Would take more organising...n would b tricky to try n sort it out by 3/5

A hotel can withdraw their booking without a reason at any time , it's not an actual contract in the eyes of the law .

Really sorry for the organisers , hope lessons are learned and you come out the other side a little wiser and stronger.

might try arrange some thing for down towards the hook lighthouse area we know a good few places down that way where we have partys on the beach the hole time guards do be cool wit it aslong as we clean up so keep ya eyes peeled ya never know i aint promising anything just yet also be around july or aug so have that tent in hand and ya tray of booze lol as for the fookers who touted on us i have u too know yas wont know anything about this one thats for sure

I realise you are disappointed but the lady was only asking a valid question..I don't think its right to even suggest it was her without valid concrete evidence.

Was just going onto check the scottish forum when I noticed your heading!

All I can say as a fellow social organiser is WTF!!! I mean seriously, those responsible are selfish, irresponsible idiots! Do they not realise how much work, effort and stress goes into organising a great social and how we have the responsibility of others privacy in our hands!!

Everbody take a wee chill pill no one has got the blame for anything here i was stating a point noting more i said it could have bin u for all i know and i dont no who it was ok that means it COULD HAVE im not blaming anyone so everybody just calm down a little bit i am sorry if you and others have picked me up wrong but thats all i was trying to say i am not blaming anybody without vaild proof and of top of that blondie was never sent any info regarding the venue in anyway so i know it was not herself i just saying thats all

I wouldn't bother yourself with it now curvy... I drought they would of given their name.. cowards never do. Plus if they used their screen names it might not of been taken too seriously
