Summer is coming.. Late sunny evenings.. Out in the garden and hearing nothing but silence reading a good book..

So...

Recommend a good book that you have read that you believe that someone will enjoy reading on the long summer days.

Bangor, Norn Iron

Where to start. Depends what sort of book you like

I love the 'Anita Blake' series by Laurell K Hamilton, enjoyed 'The Black Magician' trilogy by Trudi Canavan and 'The Weather Warden' series by Rachel Caine

'To Kill A Mockingbird' by Harper Lee is just classic, and 'The Dice Man' by Luke Rheinhart is up there in my top 5.

Plenty more after I have a think about it

All of the above, plus Robin Hobb writes good meaty fantasy. If you prefer something lighter Raymond Feist is also an excellent fantasy read.

JR Wards black dagger hood series or true blood if you prefer vampires. Eric flint is good if you like alternative history. Phillipa Gregory if you like books based on history.

JD Robb or Martina Cole is good for crime fiction.

I have eclectic reading tastes

Any book by Dean Koontz - much scarier than Stephen King.

I have Donal Ryans latest book somewhere in the wardrobe, got it as a gift for Christmas, couldn't tell you the name of it, must dig it out now and have a look. Have to say I read more about history than anything else and especially history on the Irish Civil War, I just find it so fascinating and sad at times the two different out looks and the many different reasons for picking a side.

Hardly, there was no conclusion drawn on it and not enough written or known so an argument about it would be pointless as its only based on heresay and not the whole facts. Anyway I am not here for an argument

If writes fiction but i suppose you could say that these things were occurring years ago in rural Ireland, if wrote a book on recession as well, seemingly he has a few projects near to publishing, a book of short stories is on the way which i would think would be a great easy read.

I found Karen Slaughter a year ago and have now read all her back catalogue I also like Karen Rose

I was the same about the hunger games, I skipped through most of the last book

I love Elizabeth George's inspectorl Linley books. Much much better the the tv series

Stieg Larsson fans, give Jo Nesbo a go.

Seen the size of the original unabridged book? I read that years back and nearly gave myself a hernia carrying it too and from work
