i believe it is important for people to have a faith, something to believe in,something that gives them hope.for some that will be god or a deity, for others it is just the good faith in mankind |

I believe there is one God and it doesn't matter what religion you are. When you go to meet him he isn't going to say "sorry your a Catholic you can't come in should have been born a Hebrew". If you treat people right and don't knowingly hurt or deceive people then why wouldn't you be welcomed above. |

total crock, how can anyone believe in the traditional idea of 'God' with all the horrible shit that goes on in the world, I believe in other dimensions and extra terrestrials more than I believe in a god you pray to. |

Yes and we always try to do that. Last year I buried the greatest woman I've ever known or will, she saw the good in everyone and lived her hard life helping people. Survived 2 world wars and raised her brothers and sisters as well as her own family. She never complained and died a extremely hard death at 99 years old. I refuse to believe that she isn't happy with her family and departed friends some where. I know this is inappropriate for a swingers site and I apologize. |

I like my science...everything to me points out that a higher power is something magnified on a fractal scale...to the microbes that whizz about naked to our eye, we may be exactly that...perhaps we are living inside something something unimaginably bigger ...........though I wouldnt say it controls our actions, as I do not believe in an intelligent purpose for existing..
the best plan is having no plan, because having one means there is an end objective..which basically means after the plan is complete there is no need to do anything else. |

Never apologise for raising discussion above the "kiss fuck pass" level.
The post about going to church also piqued my interest, especially as there is currently a parallel thread about swinging with a married person whose partner doesn't know.
I don't know any of the answers but I do agree that if "God" turns his back on someone because they don't follow the true faith (whatever that may be) I really wouldn't want to be part of him/her.
For those who believe 100% in a benign divinity I suggest that you take an hour out and look at the pictures in the "silent photos" thread on politics. ie
I found it intensely moving - both the depths of human depravity and the inherent goodness in us all too. |

Really don't know if there is a god above watching u but i do in times of strife reflect on a little piece "footprints in the sand"
i suppose we all carry some of the lessons and believe instilled in us by our forefathers and mothers |

I would like to believe and honestly my faith is not the best I think from my mothers passing I lost my faith the cruelty to be given the all clear and in 7 months to lose her battle surly if there was a god would he have been so cruel |

I believe that God is like Santa.
Whilst there is no Santa, it is the spirit of Santa that makes Christmas magical for so many people. It is the idea of him and what he achieves that brings so much happiness.
There is no single god, in my opinion, but the spirit of what they represent should be how we all live. Being good and kind and leading rewarding lives.
My main problem with religion is the misrepresentation of holy scriptures which causes the hatred and oppression of people and groups by some people who believe they are doing good.

I have no time for religion, its man's interpretation of the word of god and causes as much conflict (maybe more) than it solves.
whether there is a god, i suppose i'll find out when i kick the bucket.
in the meantime i will stick to the advice of buddha :
"don't be a cunt"

Unfortunately i was raised a catholic and got married in a church and had my children baptised etc but for what?? i dont believe in anything. Nothing guides u and protects you in this life other than yourself. with all the heartbreak in the world and in daily life its pretty childish to think that somebody "up there" is protecting us and watching over us..... such a crock of shit..!!! |

Where i believe in a higher power, must also say religion is man made as is the church and its ways. They're corrupt and cause more trouble than they solve |

is it man made?
I think the whole concept pre-dates what many see as religion.
it probably started before we even called ourself 'men' |

There are perfectly good reasons why the world is as beautiful as it is, and none of them involves a god.
I do not believe in any god because I cannot reconcile the massive contradictions such a belief entails.
For example if there is a god and if, as is believed by most people, it is all loving and all powerful then why do so many people, especially children, die every 5 seconds from hunger and starvation related diseases? This is a serious argument against the notion of a loving god. There are many others.
But back to sex. Fuck But I love my orgasms... they send my to heaven.....lol

have u ever asked to quantify how u feel for eachother?
would it be fair to ask whjy u love who u are with?
its equally not as fair to ask someone why they are religious
*I'm not religious..but I'd question myself if I had all the answers...
wait..that'd make me (a) GOD! |

I went to a medium who was able to give me the exact details of how my friend died, most strangest experience ever. The inquest was 3 weeks later and she was spot on. There's something there, I'm not sure what. |

I was brought up in a Christian home and felt the love of god. I became a Christian and taught girls brigade for twelve years and other church youth programmes. I do still believe in god but I do not believe in pushing it down peoples throats. God gave us free will and that is why there are so many bad things that happen. There is enough food and water in the world to give everyone a healthy diet but greedy politicians and heads if state keep it for themselves. There should be no wars or famine in the world but there is because of hatred bred through persicussion and religion, as already stated the greedy people in power.
I watched my mum die after battling leukaemia for four months and it was horrific to see. She was a good person would help anyone and very religious, I asked the same question of god why did he let her suffer so much. I have taken a bit of a step back from the church from that day, but I still believe. It was explained to me by a friend of the family a minister that her suffering on earth would be replaced by rewards with The Lord. I do not tell others what to believe I keep my beliefs to my self it keeps me going. |

My beliefs have changed a bit as I get older. I have had a few very close family losses over the past 2 years and have questioned religion a lot since but I believe things happen for a reason, it is just hard to understand them. I still have my beliefs but they are different now but, like yourself, they keep me going. |

"I believe in a higher power but I don't believe in the church"
Am with ye there...and i think whether ye believe or not we should all make the effort to spread kindness and a bit of good will...a smile or kind word can lift a person from the depths... |
