Last min Easter hol

Tropical SW & frozen North

We are thinking of a last min hol to Ireland for Easter. Either fly and city stay or ferry and drive. Just for 3 or 4 days....

Any thoughts on what would be most cost effective? Any offers of a pint lol

Cheers

I've found usually flying to be better value unless you are bringing a lot of stuff with you.

The ferry can be expensive. You would get cheap flights from Southampton into Derry /City, or Gatwick and Heathrow in to Belfast or international

Hire a car here

You then have the whole of the north to explore and the prices are same as home. No need to change your money either

You can also travel down to Dublin very easily

Do hire a car. Public transport is dire and expensive. Two or three nights stay would be enough to see a good lot if you have a car

This close, probably cheaper to boat, cheaper still to rail 'n' sail & plenty to do in Dublin without transport, city transport is pretty good.

Hotels & restaurants can serve alcohol to their residents/patrons on Good Friday but as Mr Wilder says ALL pubs & bars are closed.
