I (Mr here) don't post a lot here as we're here to meet people, not to spend time pontificating on things. I do enjoy threads both on here and on vanilla sites.
One thing that has always confused me is if you read the first comment on a new thread, then maybe read one half way down, it appears to stay on topic. Then jump to the last post and in most cases its gone totally off topic.
People changing the topic and using it for the "I'm cool cos I can turn any thread into a joke and look at me"
Now im not giving out, just wondering, as I enjoy reading posts on a thread but then get bored as its always turned off topic! I'll probably get slated for this but sure what can you do!

I agree with the OP..

I agree, sometimes they go way off course.... for different reasons though. Sometimes it's just a natural course of conversation.... and sometimes people get carried away talking on the side to each other. In a real environment these two people would just start sitting together and chat and the rest of the group continues their conversation. But on here it's public.
It is a great way to meet new people though so when you get along with someone you may get carried away just talking to them.
Not sure this makes sense at all... I'm still learning English haha
But yeah sometimes and I've done it myself people get carried away and repost lenghty posts just between themselves and that can be so distracting. |

I think it's the gregarious nature of us folk in this small island, that helps threads go off on different tangents. although there some who think the world revolves around them, as Mr t says 'pity the fools' |
