Out on the bike.
Gardening, I live in the sticks and its great after a busy week of hassle.
And also chatting to people here because there a step away from day to day life.
And of course sex is a great for stress too.

"Hmn to sit on the fence or dive right in up to the neck.... "
Best not. Not the time or place. While I'd love to start a thread and debate the pros and con's, as I feel there's so much misinformation I think discussing such matters on the forum is frowned upon. |

No interest in sport but I had a few games of FIFA with mates recently and everyone was surprised (including me) that I wasn't actually crap at it. It was quite enjoyable. |

All depends what u want to get out of? I do a 5 day programme so it's arms, legs, cardio, back/shoulders and legs. If you're only joining you might want to start off doing some classes to boost your confidence with free weights etc. kettle bells is always a good starter class enjoy it. |

My advice when your starting out would be to focus more on nutrition then what your doing in the gym, anything ye do do in the gym starting off will yield results as long as your diet is spot on, what you eat really does determine your results far more then one might imagine! I would focus on a high protein diet, high fats and low carbs but some people don't respond well to low carb, low carb makes me irritated n moody! Don't worryaabout your weight also, worry about your muscle mass and your body fat % and drink a shit load of water follow that and you won't go wrong ha |

Agreed. Its 70% nutrition and 30% weights. Most people think its the other way around.
I've ran marathons (Mr here) and half marathons for years but never ate properly and couldnt shake the last few pounds. Started eating better and using kettlebells about 2 years ago and I'm back to the size it was when I was 20 yrs old. Its not easy though! |

It's good to see your focusing long term, most ppl want results in weeks if not days in some cases! Just eat as best you can, enjoy ur training and don't obsess with staring in the mirror, the results will come in time, just keep at it and learn to enjoy it |

Never go low fat mate, People for some strange reason think fats make them fat! If you take in more calories then you expend then the excess will be stored as fat regardless of what macro nutrient the calories came from! Good fats keep testosterone levels high which is important for growth/muscle mass and they regulate important hormones! While carbs maybe your bodies preferred energy source, you don't need high carbs, some carbs before and after your workout is sufficient! Some ppl train fasted and have no problems with energy, in fact your stored fat is energy if you think about it |

Good nutrition and good training go hand in hand.
One must always complement the other.
Now that said you don't have to charging into a nutrition plan that very quickly becomes boring and therefore hard to sustain.
The golden rule is get your carbs in early in the day, and don't eat any carbs after 6.
As far as training goes there are three basic exercises to focus on, the deadlift, the squat and the benchpress.
You can use whatever equipment you feel comfortable with for each if these excerises, kettlebells, dumbbells or barbells.
When performing each exercise it must always be you that controls the weight, never the other way round, never be tempted to add extra weight until you feel ready.
Any questions then just holler.

You'll get a lot of advice about the gym on here,
But I think first and foremost, don't just jump in feet first and push yourself with unrealistic goals...
Speak to the gym trainer, that's what they're there for!
He/She will make up a program suited specifically for you, including nutrition!
Don't forget, we all started from the beginning...
Set a goal that suits YOU, but most of all, ENJOY it!
You'll be more inclined to keep it up when you enjoy your sessions!
Good luck and have fun! |

Why no carbs after 6 lol Don't buy into that crap, ya hardly think the minute the clock hits 6 all carbs get stored as fat lol I don't recommend high carb for fat loss but only because you need to cut one macro nutrient in order to keep calories low and protein and fats and more important, but technically it's all about calories out versus in, you could eat a ton of carbs right before bed if u like, as long as your calories for that day keep you in a caloric deficit then your fine but don't listen to me, do your research |

Please provide evidence for not training fasted! Alot of bodybuilders train fasted, your body doesn't just go catabolic and start eating muscle tissue just because you didn't eat before training! |

Iam not advising anyone to lift on an empty stomach, but it's no harm to FACT!! Why would it be any harm? Please enlighten me with your wisdom If of course you train fasted and feel shit then Yup you certainly should eat before hand next time but if you feel fine then go ahead, it's not dangerous ffs lol never heard such rubbish |

Most to train hard to be fair! But they're the ones that usually reached there genetic potential and after years of training they decide to go down the roads road, others then just want results fast and abuse the drugs whilst barely training! People will do anything for a shortcut to success |

"ive strated doing the weights recently i love it... never thought id ever do them being female lol... best thing I ever started doin girls think they make u huge ha they don't at all
100% every girl should lift, especially Squat squats and deadlifts are the two main ones I focus on
Deadlifts and circuits.... then sex lol. .. works for me!
Both good compound movements, add in some strict presses to and your golden nothin sexier then a woman that lifts "

What makes me laugh even with all that chest sticking out is no one mentioned giving a punching bag a good few slaps. Can't beat focusing all your aggression into one place and letting it all go. |
