If I remember correctly, he went on a fairly abusive rant against two people here. He disappeared from the forum shortly afterwards, as did the thread in question.

Right I never had any personal interaction with the guy on the forums but I read plenty of his posts, He was far from pleasant.In fact on many an occasion the whole thread was removed due to his outbursts of unpleasantness at times, he regularily received holidays from here. He never saw the other picture on things and couldn't understand how others had a different view point to him. You may miss him as a person but his outbursts of vulgarity towards others can't be missed

Surely the vulgarity, or more correctly abusiveness is the issue though? I don't care if someone fails to see my side of an argument. I don't even care if they make a mockery of someone else's post. What I do care about is abusive and personal comments directed at other forum users. It should have no place on this or any other forum. I don't actually recall freshmeat personally abusing anyone, so I'm not sure what the reason for the comparison is? Maybe I missed something when I was away?

in that case michael you missed quite a bit.but im not willing to discuss it again.where jack is concerned im not going to comment because i didnt tead the thread after it got weird do i dont know..

Without wishing to revisit the thread in question, I think anyone who saw that thread knows why he got a timeout. The thread only lasted half an hour or so anyway.

Yes i dont get involved unless its directed at me so im keeping out of jacks comment attacks.i dont agree with getting personal, as in outside fab comments ,which is uncalled for.

People get banned for lots of reasons, most of which a lot of people won't see as the posts/threads are removed.

Discussing someones ban is not allowed
