So I have this theory that people who work with the public (nurses, guards, hairdressers, teachers, people in sales/marketing, cab drivers and so on!) are such more successful at getting meets due to the fact that they are better able to talk to people (and basically aren't all weird and quiet)
(I also heard someone say recently that in order to be well balanced socially you need to speak to at least 8 other adults per day lol)

hmm,kinda agree,i work with the public but i wudnt say i was really out going ,i can be a bit shy with ppl i dont know,and yes i get lots of offers for meets but thts only cos im female with a pulse lol  |

It's hard to get a rapport going via messaging as most women are inundated with mail and are understandably spoiled by choice but if you get a chat going then yes confidence and familiarity can be a help and dealing with public regularly is a bonus for chatters |

Interesting theory - probably a lot of truth in it too. If you are extroverted by nature and well used to chatting to people, you are less likely to feel the 'distance' between people and come across as shy or whatever. I think you're gonna be more successful swinging if you are naturally extroverted and can make people feel safe, at ease and make them laugh too...
but yeah, you are onto something there highlighting those kinds of professions ! |

I work on my own and live in the middle of nowhere on my own.I often go days without speaking face to face with someone.apart from my kids and dog
And im kinda shy wen I meet ppl first

well now i have my doubts about this theory, i have to converse with at least 30 ppl during the day and i can honestly say that i am fast becoming a manic hater of the human race, i long for a whole week where i don't want to meet another person. Its actually got to the point where i am finding the four walls of my house a sanctuary |

Would def agree to a certain extent as am in that list and sector I am in it relies on me being very approachable but then know farmers who work round animals all day that have more banter than anyone put together lol! so not always black and white but yes agree helps!.
Some people can be very chatty though in a work related role and clam up when chat to the opposite sex etc, nerves what where they ever created for!. |

I deal with a lot of people face to face every day at work and apparently people perceive me as bubbly. So sometimes I actually quite enjoy not talking to anyone in my free time.
With new people I can be a bit awkward, especially if there's not much in common. |
