heya everyone jen here i have a chest infection any advice of to get rid of it or do to ease it....
had it now the last week but cant go to the doctors i have no med card any info would be great thanks everyone

A crazy thing I found out lately ok? Pass on paracetamol, use aspirin. Anedin max strength. I'm 47 ok? I've buds who are ten years older and younger and who needed pain relief from toothaches etc. It's awesome! Really. |

I can't use aspirin cause I'm allergic ill be in hospital for weeks if I take it  |

im allergic to aspirin though "
Not a cure Jen but vixes in hot water in a bowl towel over the head helps me along with ibeprofen and hot drinks. Eg. Fresh lemons in a pot of water and a little bit of whisky can help.

Best to go doctor , you don't want it turning into pneumonia. With what's going round it is possible.
If not then stay in bed, lemon and honey and plenty of liquids.

Only thing to get rid of it is an antibiotic. Avoiding getting one is just gonna cause damage. I'm from a tiny village where the chemist throws antibiotics out like sweets though. Feel your pain re no medical card |

vick on the feet and a teaspoon of it in a basin of boiling water.put ur head over the basin and cover with a towel.inhale all the steam big deep breaths.do that for 10 mins.then honey lemon and 2paracetamol and bed.im refusing to take antibiotics unless im really bad because i think doctors just hand them out too easily these days.just my opinion fyi hope u feel better soon..xx |

I agree. This chest infection has been going around for weeks and some have turned really bad including mine. I chose not to take antibiotics first either but then it turned into bronchitits. It took me weeks to get rid of it. As a longterm effect I have now lost my sense of smell, which I hope will return at some stage... |

Honey you'll have to go to doctor before it turns into pneumonia!!!! It'll cost more and will take longer to cure if you ignore it!!! Please mind yourself! |

Rest and if u cough up dark gree or blood get to the doctor I had
Plurisy a few weeks back ended up on horse tablets was awful thought my ribs were broken |

steam, bath and/or shower with the water as hot as you can take it. it loosens the mucus and makes it easer to get it out of your system

Feel your pain
Been suffering myself the past two weeks, feel like ive broken at least 4 ribs

Go to the Doc.
Also great is bout 10 glasses of honey water lemon one after the other..then into bed..lots ofblankets (or people)... And sweat it out..and plenty of rest to help your body recover. Good luck xx  |

As a nurse myself i have to agree an antibiotic is the only way to go to clear it quickly, theres a lot of pnemonia about at the moment thats the last thing you need  |

if u really have a chest infection u will need antibiotics!u really shud go the docs in case it gets worse! |
