Or more specifically if 1 of your friends shared a link with you,did they single you out to send it to or does it go to all their friends?

i think they share the link with u specifically ,they have to choose who they share the link with

generally, if they put it on your wall, then whoever you give access to your wall can see it, including your friend's friends.
If they send it to you on FB via the 'message' link it's private, unless they copy in other people. |

Not necessarily there is an option to show on timeline or not and option as to who can view your timeline i.e. You, friends, friend's friends or everyone. |

Its not the link thats that important,its the person who sent it
so im not asking who else can see the link its the person that sent it,did they single me out to share link or does it just go to all your friends? |

Usually if your name is In the written section at the top it was for you. One way to check is to go to their wall and see if it appears there with the names in the address |
