I've just spotted that too, although I suspect the free postage may only be a UK thing. Still, parcel motel could be useful for that.

Cheap laptop chargers are cheap for a reason: They're usually shite. But if you must insist on buying one make sure of the following:

The plug must fit.

The voltage must be correct

It actually works.

I'd pay the 70 myself, less fear of a cheap chinese knock off charger frying your battery, or worse your motherboard and then you've to fork out for a new laptop

Caveat Emptor.....you get what you pay for.

Not always. I once bought a genuine Dell adaptor for mine which cost me over €60 and it lasted about 14 months. The cheap Chinese one cost €12 and so far has lasted about 4 years.

The voltage is pretty crucial alright. I once used a universal charger which looked to be set to the correct voltage, but it fried the motherboard, the motherfucker, or is it motherboardfucker?

I see someone on adverts.ie selling them for €25 plus postage. I'd say they probably have what you're looking for.

Harvey normans sell generic "hahnel" ones for about 30 euro. I have two of them and they come with different tips to suit different laptops to sort the voltage and polarity out.

Take your laptop in with you and you can be sure its works before you leave the shop.
