I hate confrontation but when I see unfairness, people being made fun of, belittled, patronised or discriminated I quite likely will make my unhappiness about this heard.
I've got into trouble because of this many times - starting as young as in Kindergarden - when a girl was bullied - but I don't care. It's worth it. |

I think it has all to do with respect and boundaries and thinking of the affect it has and not the intend.
So I have no problems if people I know well make fun of my origins, my accent, my size etc. But a stranger should get to know me a bit better before pushing the boundaries too much.

"Does anyone find a lot of political correctness in the swinging scene ie people conform to views and attitudes that are safe and without confrontation. "
are you saying that people go with the gang in discussion here even though their own view may not be so politically correct? Or their own view may be a little off the wall... Because they are afraid to risk being attacked here... or worse... not getting any action?!
I'd say yes! I see that when reading profiles all the time too.
Though most are decent folk in my opinion |

i don't care about religion or politics i believe there is one god for everyone and he doesn't discriminate over what you believe down here.
Saying that very recently a couple that had a post on here came into chat and made a sectarian comment to another in the chat room because they wouldn't verify them. They had never met the other person but i couldn't help it i had to stick up for them.
i don't believe that there is any place in this world for this attitude and i do not want my child being exposed to the same stereotypes that i was.
this place is about fun not color religious beliefs or sexual orientation.
sorry rant over

Perhaps the op had noticed that strong opinions were often suppressed within the forums and chatrooms in order for people to appear wholesome and sweeter than pie...it may well be that fab is full of benign people (I doubt it), but it does does to be very unpopular to actually take a strong view on something , especially if your a single male |

We have all bought into the term PC in exactly the way it was originally intended to be used socially .
The term politically correct was used in the 18&19 centuries mainly in the US but it's meaning was very different. It only meant to be aligned to the correct political party.
The meaning we have now, is a hash up, originally taken from the 1930s Frankfurt school list. This was a secret Marxist think tank within the university of Frankfurt, Germany, consisting of paid agents working for Stalinist/Communist Russia. This was a list of subversive ideals/laws which could be used to overthrow and turn any country communist, without having to invade or go to war with. By using paid agents implanted into every walk of life ie schools, councils, churches and so on all working for the common purpose.
This was discovered by the allies after W2 and was used to find and either remove or turn as many Marxist agents as possible. But by the late fifties and ten years into the Cold War the west had underestimated the shear amount of Marxist agents, subversives and left wing groups Stalin had in his direct or indirect pay. So at the first meeting in Amsterdam, of the now infamous, Bilderberg group which took place in the late fifties, they decided to allow but control the common purpose and push it towards a more national socialism ideal by using the industrial wealth of its members which really started to work by the late 60s.
Then in 1967 a second rewrite of the Frankfurt list was drawn up and put to work known as the Rockefeller institute papers of which they coined the PC term and filtered it out through as they called them by then the leftist useful idiots who by now had been totally infiltrated by the right wing national socialist money men.
Political correctness is a mix of a couple of ideals which are meant to keep you from questioning the very thing that is keeping you down by making everything offensive to someone and therefore nothing can be debated for fear of offence.
If you take some time and read the Frankfurt list then you'll see what I mean as it will be used by others on here both left and right who have taken the propaganda hook line and sinker and will berate me as a looney lol.
