dont get sucked into temple bar for the weekend - not the real dublin
Guinness store house, great way to pass a few hours.
mosey around Stephens green, grafton street and it surrounding streets.
pubs to check out are the long haul, the brazen head, O'Donoghues Bar, wexford street has a vibrant nightlife and I know ill get slagged for this but if you want a great night without the bullshite get to copper face jacks on harcourt street from 11pm onwards.
enjoy |

Last time I went to dublin I wemt into a bar for a quick drink and lunch, left 6 hours later knowing the words to several 'traditional' irish songs, unable to walk, and 90 new friends on my Facebook!!! |

"thanks for the reply,
i'd rather see the bars away from the main touristy ones so this sounds like good advice.
cheers pal.
"
no bother
Check out george street arcade, very nice place for look (its near stephens green) and grogans is behind it. The market bar, hogans, the no name bar are all great just off dame street. There are lots mate. The porter house (near dame st too). Basically dame st, grafton st and wexford st and the Streets linking them have plenty of great places all within walkin distance. |

i know what you mean classy.
ive been there a few time and what struck me was that it was full of tourists who are visiting for a few days.
when we have gone there we knew we would be surrounded by tourists which was the attraction
i think when you get outside temple bar you will experience genuine dublin culture made of up of dubs, country people and people from different nationalities living, working, studying in dublin. thats what i love about dunlin anyway.
i think thats what the OP was hoping to experience?

only messing bouncers, ill get back in the queue
a lot of bouncers are sound but a few can be unreasonable alright |
