Much as i'm tired of football nowadays, with its overpaid and over priced players that seem to have trouble not falling over, once i loved the sport, watched all the matches i could, played it etc. Very few players today could take a proper Paul Ince tackle.
I find myself wondering, if Christiano Ronaldo, a player so easily pushed over that Sir Alex Ferguson had to think up ab excuse for it tore the Premiership a new one, how would have George Best have fared? Bare in mind this was a player who dribbled with ease usinf a ball far heavier than modern balls, he spent 90 minutes with defenders trying to injure him and usually left them for dead. He didn't fall about as if he'd been shot when kicked. Peraonally imo he'd have been crowned best footballer ever and Lionel, Christiano and co would pale in comparison |

he was one of the best, arguably the best. Yes i think so, Fergie gave many young players their start in the game and kept them on the straight and narrow. Also the biggest problem fir George was isolation, he was a young Belfast man, miles from home. Most of his teammates were settled family men, that didn't socialise much outside the club. He had too much money, too young and no guidance. |

he didn't overly succeed at any club he managed, moderate success at Sunderland due to the money spent on players
Trap did the best he could with the resources available to him, he took Ireland to the euros. |
