Gilmore is reported to have said he hopes a referendum on same-sex marriage happens during the lifetime of the govt, anyone else think that sounds a bit vague?

I suspect he's conscious of the fact that in the current climate the government will lose any referendum they bring forward, regardless of merit. If they held it anytime soon, probably less than 20% of the electorate would decide whether or not it was carried. That's not an ideal situation. |

cant understand why people link their dislike of a goverment to how they vote in a referendum but your right thats what would happen and that would be a shame |
