It always amuses me the way some people hijack threads here...someone would put up a legitimate post looking for a particular thing then the floodgates open with the silliest of replies usually from the type of people who the original post most certainly wasn't aimed at in the first place...now....who is gona be the first wise ass to post something in reply to this? It does get a little tedious and boring after awhile.
Sure enough, some threads can be livened up (dependant on the topic), but then along come 'The Team', one after the other, like an over rehearsed Paul Daniels show! (Cringeworthy)...
Don't get me wrong, I like having a laugh on here (used to), but shouldn't some threads be left to their own devices now and then?.. At least to see if the question or topic can be discussed/answered, before they're torn apart?...

Sometimes when your being serious 90% of your day it's nice to come into the forums and have a little bit of light humour for 10% of the day. I think if a serious topic arises, it will stay the course without being hijacked, but there haven't been too many of them of late. Surely if a topic is serious, enough people will contribute to it to keep it afloat, and if it goes off in a tangent, it may be an indication that it was stalling anyway? I don't have the answers, I fear. |

"Ok. I'm finding it hard to know what to say here. Yes, threads have been hijacked, but for the most part they were threads that were going nowhere to start with. There have been serious discussions that haven't been hijacked, but they often result in practically everybody being banned.
I think if a serious topic arises, it will stay the course without being hijacked, but there haven't been too many of them of late. Surely if a topic is serious, enough people will contribute to it to keep it afloat, and if it goes off in a tangent, it may be an indication that it was stalling anyway? Remember we are also the savior of threads. Many a thread would have simply died a quick death if it wasn't for the quick yet lateral thinking of ...........(you know who you are . Sure look how far we've taken this thread. We have resuscitated and massaged back to life threads that simply said 'removed by poster' or the long winded ones that just say 'hi'. We are the forumites and we shall not be moved

But surely there's no need for 'The Comedy Club' to come out and post onto every single thread!??...
It does get a little tedious and boring after awhile.
Sure enough, some threads can be livened up (dependant on the topic), but then along come 'The Team', one after the other, like an over rehearsed Paul Daniels show! (Cringeworthy)...
Don't get me wrong, I like having a laugh on here (used to), but shouldn't some threads be left to their own devices now and then?.. At least to see if the question or topic can be discussed/answered, before they're torn apart?...
