Martin O'Neill...
Jump to: Newest in thread
Martin should have had the position many years ago. He has a knack of getting the most out of average players. I would love to see Harry Redknapp get the position but he's tied to qpr.
What about fergy?
He would put an end to the constant stupid mistakes that we make. |

"Yea celtic are awful beating barca and that. Who do u support"
No one in the Scottish league anyway. Sure Northern Ireland beat Russia recently at Windsor add that to thumping Spain and England etc and by your theory the team and manager are world beaters, clearly not though
Lesser teams do occasionally beat bigger sides especially at home but it's another thing to be doing it regularly |

Martin o Neil is a good manager..
Hes is able to get the players to play good football..done well with villa but the club messed him around..
But now Ireland are just playing the long ball again!.its not nice to watch.
The players dont want to play like that..it dose not work..
Martin o'neil gets that job easy..top man..

I Totaly agree with you, but it has to be said that it takes a special manager to inspire the lesser teams to go out and beat your Germany's, Spain etc... It's obviouse that Our players aren't inspired by trap. Why would they be when he openly judges and put the players down in the media. He plays a style of football that jack would be proud of even tho we can play better than the long ball I believe we have better players than back on jacks day but they don't have the heart and drive as some of the past players we'v had and I put this down to traps influence. Just saying |

I understand he was in charge of a team that beat Juve once etc wouldn't have called his tenure at Villa or Sunderland a success though, I personally think he's over-rated as a manager it's funny how he's never really had a big job yet?? |

So laurie sanchez was a special manager? Its the crowd that makes teams like celtic and n.i beat better opposition. Also roi aren't inspired by q man who has won all the european trophies but will be inspired by a man who beat juventus |

o'neil was a good manager a few years ago.
spent a huge amount at villa, which left whoever came in after him having to rebuild the team/club.
he was an abject faliure at sunderland 'his club' which you would have thought he would have done well at.
buys too many average players on big wages.
however, he DOES seem to have an eye for getting the best out of people, so who knows.
give him a chance.
cant do much worse anyway. |

Far from it how often would Sanchez's team beat major opposition? Rarely !!
Yes the crowd has a big part of it. But let's face it you won't get a better crowd of supporters than the green army. Win lose or draw they always support the players. And you obviously never read all of what I wrote Hayes trap is a great manager but he has no faith in the roi team and the players no it, so how can they be inspired and give 110%. Martins sheer passion for the game is enough to inspire anyone. Trap is a club manager a great one at that but I don't think he has it as an international manager, don't forget he was a failure with his native Italian team. |

funnily enough, they were talking with Matt Holland, and he is good friends with Roy, yet said he reckoned half the supporters would rather see him lynched than made manager, although apparently, the head of the irish FA isnt interested in him, having much the same opinion. |

as they say, a new brush sweeps clean.
maybe there are players n the current squad that need to be moved out.
as for Robbie, as long as he is still scoring, lets hope he has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
remember his debut for Wolves still.
what about what Wales did with Speed and get someone with no experience but big ideas, or would the supporters not be happy with that?
maybe a manager from the irish league, as N ireland have done with their manager, and he is starting to get some good performances |

Stephen Ireland is another that let his country and his teammates down at a time of need....it must be a cork thing. Lol |
