"as above big chunky meaty rugby type! mmmm "
Woohoo!
Is that enough of a stereotype to add to the thread then? And as I'm a right dirty mind too do I get extra points? |

Why would you want either when you have looking female couples on your profile?
Or is now a case of any hole is a goal? |

Ah yeah i know its down to taste n all that, thats grand, thats simple enough to understand, guess from a social point of view i was tryin to find out why its seems to be more socially acceptable to be a large woman than a large man, was just somethin a mate said earlier has me thinkin all these kinda things, yanno, like why people can be proud to be black but say your proud to be white and its socially awkward. Think thats the start of a tangent now haha |

it may be an evolutionary thing. Big women can look motherly and womanly, warm and able to bear children and look after them.
In the old hunting days (no, I don't remember them, I'm not 5'000 years old lol) men had to provide for their families by hunting and protecting them. For that they had to be physically fit.
Maybe that's the reason why it seems to be more 'acceptable' to be a large woman than a large man???
I know it's far fetched, but hey, I have my thinking caps on this morning haha |

Nothing far fetched about it a woman looks at a potential mate with a view of will his be healthy and can he provide for me and them |

"And why would that be outta curiosity?"
Personal preference yes.
Lots of soft warm flesh on a woman is lovely to me, so feminine!
But hair and hard muscle on a guy - that's a man! |

Good story Beebs, few holes though, as far as im aware, and im open to correction, but of all the cultures, societies and locales around the world, i can only think of one where big women are revered in the manner to which you attest (sounds terrible legal speachy), and thats in west Africa, where girls are apparantly force fed goats milk to fatten them up for future husbands, well according to BBC they are. As for the men side of things, pretty sure most cultures over the last 5000 years bar the last c150 years say, marriages would have been "arranged" for politcal or monetary gain,so picking a partner was out the window. Like i said...open to corrections..and no reference was made to age too |

To be honest I am not that convinced that bigger women are more accepted, are they? They certainly are not represented that much in popular media as bigger men are , and to be an overweight woman is still looked upon by many as a sign of weakness and unattractive. Well if you were to go by what you read on Fab anyway! Or maybe I'm missing something. |

Dunno bout that, there's plenty of BBW's out there in the mass media that would be considered pin-ups,Nigella Lawson and Sophie Dahl, before the weight loss, Sara Ramirez,Nikki Blonsky, Anna Nicole Smith ,Queen Latifah, etc, ya get the picture, who are the men though? |

My point is that an overweight man doesn't seem to be as much of an issue as an overweight woman is. I am only seeing this from a female point of view but females are bombarded from an early age on how to look etc, a woman is more defined by her outward beauty than a man is. I find myself attracted to lots of qualities in men, charisma and attitude are hella sexy, one of my all time favourite men is Ray Winstone and he is hardly what you would call chiselled! Big brute of a man, . |

Just reading over what I have wrote, I hope it does not sound like I am criticising curvier women, I love seeing them being celebrated!
My views are coming from someone who has struggled with self-image and weight from I could pretty much form rational thought, so I've an invested interest in the subject! |

Jaysus, yeah Ray Winstone...well he was in a film called Sexy Beast so thats kinda self explanatory lol I do recall however when that vampire fella in Twilight (the english lad, name is lost on me) he was photographed on a beach, was in one of the sunday papers, there was shock and consternation that he was sportin belly fat and not a 6 pack. Pressure is there for lads too...think about it, read trough all the posts on this..if ur a guy and not chisseled, yer fecked for fun on this lol |

well I don't think that way at all, in fact, super chiselled abs and six packs don't do that much for me, I prefer my mind be stimulated |

You seem to be convinced of what you are saying and won't hear otherwise so what is the point of listing ones off!! |
