It can be quite daunting sending a message to really make an impression. What's the most common message you get and which one makes you interested. The most common I get is "nice cock" that's it lol. What's yours ??
Like what's good ?
What's bad ?
Some are very straight forward and wud make you laugh |

The most common one i get has to be , 'hi hun how's u wt u up2?' possibly the most boring question anyone can ask.
I like gettin messages with a bit of humour and originality, always draws my interest. |

"nice cock" has to be the most annoying message! .....where does a conversation go from there??....downhill usually !!! i think some people have never spoken to other people before going by some of the "conversations" iv had here |

it can be hard to judge. i sent a perfectly good message there an hour ago. put a thought into it. wasnt a copy and paste job but took the persons profile into account and it was respectful. I met all the persons guidelines but it was deleted without reply.
maybe the person does not want to meet any new fabbers so I think it is just best to put the effort in for every message and if its deleted then so be it and dont get disappointed about it. |

lads the ladies here can get 100s of messages a day so dont be too pissed off if she deletes your messages, its nothing personal. im not sure how you catch their attention in a mail to be honest. ive tried lots of different ways.
the best way to catch their attention or make an impression is by going to meet and greets. its by far the best way. |

There would be some that do. I don't. I get very few. And most I delete without opening because they are less then a line long and usually text talk. If there's no effort being sent I'm not putting any back |

i know a few who do get that many. ive seen some inboxes. 100s might not be accurate for most girls though, dozens would be more correct. especially girls with photos up.
youre coddin yourself if you dont thnk thats what goes on in here. |

Well I'd at least reply if I get a message from any woman, if even to have a chat a laugh or just to say thanks but no thanks. Doesn't cost anything and goes a long way. |

Personal opinion. I think the first message should be simply about breaking the ice. I don't think wit, humour, originality, etc, is important in the first message. Those things are a two way street, and can often appear a bit contrived if thrown out at the start. Most conversations in the real world start with a simple hello, don't they? |

sorry but,
hi hows things, hoys you today, well having much luck here, that is just lazy, in my opinion. and the love your pics, your wife is realy hot!!! people don't read profiles! so why when it is clear they didn't read, should they start a conversation with them? because that is what that would require, the people getting the one liners starting the conversation |

"That's only if you get a reply Michael "
Yes, but what I'm saying is that conversation develops over time. It doesn't just start out of the blue, and I think people are looking for too much in a first message. I don't see what the problem is with a one line message. I wonder how many people who've been chatted up in a bar or nightclub got a chat up line that consisted of three or four sentences comprised of prefect grammar? Not too many, I suspect. |

hahaha you cheeky f***r lol, in a bar face to face there is body language, eye contact and more! here there is a type message that needs to count! you wouldn't walk up to a strange in the street stare and say hows you today if you don't know them!!! would you????? besides Michael you know you put effort into messages x "
Aww thanks, but actually I do talk to people in the street like that.
Can't a hello be followed by a hello back if interested in conversing, and then see what develops? It's difficult to have to come up with something imaginative all the time. |

it could it could also be met with a blank stare or worse! jesus I couldn't walk up to a total stranger and ask how they are !!!!!!
besides! getting away from the topic! most genuine people have a full profile including the list of interests, why would it be to much to expect people to read and tailor a message to them??? |

Michael , the majority of.messages I get say hi how are you, I.used to reply to.them out if politeness then get a one line message again. after time it becomes incredibly dull so I think ill stick to my.filter of not answering such boring questions, worked for me after the 3 years I've been here. |

I so agree. If you want one line chat then head to the chat rooms. Today I got a "hi how's u doing " (sic) message from a certain car driver, went to read his profile and guess what? All he has in his profile is "hi hows u doing"
How on earth is a conversation supposed to develop from that?

Exactly nippy, and the way i look at it is, i am not on here for 'real life', it is about escapism and fantasy, so why would i want to have a banal conversation that i could have with the wee old man sitting beside me on the bus.
I am on here for something specific and i dont see why i should have to answer every question i get asked just because someone dredged up the energy to type 'hi hun u ok?x' and actually thought 'yeah , that will get things started!' lolol |

sometimes it isn't what's in the message. first impression is everything. we ignore the message initially and give profile a give scan. The if that passes the sanity test then read and reply to the message. The pics, the intro, the stats, opening few lines.
so what your profile says is more important than a first message. for us |

I just don't think there's a formula for what's guaranteed to work. If someone who sounds like an ass in their profile sends a message that Oscar Wilde himself might have composed, would that illicit a response? I don't think so. I just don't personally believe that hard and fat rules make sense in a place like this. Obviously it would be great if all messages were well thought out, but hey, live a little. I'm screwed altogether now I don't have the body of Adonis, nor do I have a 17 inch penis, or even the face of, I dunno, who's a really good looking man these days? and here I am advocating that we should be less critical of first messages... It could all end badly |

I agree but, if it was directed at us with something, say, about what we like that could start a conversation!
if on the other hand it is bland, and a profile like I read earlier that said simpley blah blah blah
says a lot and I don't want to have to drag a convo out of people so it gets ignored |

Think we're missing the point
If someone takes time to write out a nice introduction. For first message even if you find it boring or don't like it , I don't think it's to much to ask to get a no thanks reply ,
If its a shit one line like " wanna fuck". Fair enough doesn't deserve an answer .
I know some people mite get lots of messages but I'm sure the can tell the difference between one that took time and one that didn't |

If the person man woman couple write a nice letter and has obviously read their profile, and makes the message personal to them! yes, it does deserve an acknowledgment!!! but it is their prerogative weather to reply or not! |

I think because it's a swinging site, most people go straight to the point with
Hey I wanna fuck U first message.
It's hard from a mans prospective.
But as a woman it's very hard to deal with messages that are crude and insulting.
If you dont reply I have been called every name under the sun.

On a serious note, the ones that get our attention are around a paragraph long.. 4 or 5 sentences.. states what theyre looking for, a pic attached, a mobile no etc etc.. always gets to the top of our list for replying
a message such as "how are you" just gets read and we go onto the next one |
