A buddy of mine* just messaged our group chat saying he reckons he has a dead mouse in the wall of his house, because there's a strong odour about the place.

Anyone with any experience with that?

Couple of choices like getting professionals who will locate it for you and probably ruin your wall to get rid of it. Best thing is to get some nice smells into the room for a couple of weeks.

Takes about 7 to 10 days for the dead mouse smell to go depending on the room temperature. Open the windows every day and use an oil diffuser. Helps to keep the smell at bay.

If its a single mouse the smell will go away as soon as it dries out and the flesh dessicates. If its something bigger it may take longer and also attract something else in the interim period. Not much point in wreckimg walls and ceilings hunting it down either.

If it's not easily got to then yep, wait it out. The wee things dessicate in no time at all and then there'll be no smell

Yip, something definitely died in my attic, there was evidence of mice, the smell was horrendous. Plugged in one of the air wick diffuser things - problem solved 🤫

Smell went away after about 2/3 weeks. Just wait it out.

Plug in air fresher or soak cotton in essential oils should get rid of it.
