People seem to want to see it as a black and white definition - kinky or vanilla. Like it's some special label.
I believe its about wanting to try new things, experiment and enjoy different aspects of a sexual relationship. Most people in new or established relationships will do this as part of keeping that interesting. Trying different things with different partners. That's why we are here anyway. |

I view kink as I view any 'alternative' interests.
Some people are interested in what would be called underground music or film. Interests that aren't in the mainstream.
For example, one might prefer indie films over the mega Hollywood blockbusters.
Like any alternative interests, it goes against the grain, so to speak.
For me, kink is just an interest in what could be labeled as an alternative approach to sex.
It doesn't have to be extreme like BDSM to be kinky. It can be simply anything, however tame, that just gives you an extra thrill.
Me personally, I like leather. Don't know why, or how it became a thing. It's just something I like.
But it doesn't mean I need it or that I can't enjoy vanilla sex. It's just an extra thrill when I, or a partner is wearing leather.
Look at it this way; An ice cream cone is delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. But it's just that little bit nicer when there's a flake in it  |

For me I am still discovering my kinks, this remarkable journey brings so many people into your life, and you trade likes, and kinks and although I enjoy bacon sandwiches, I think I'd go crazy if I had to eat them everyday.
Kinks are personal and changeable and different for everyone, rimming to some is disgusting, to some delightful, to some kinky.. to some, foreplay.

Sometimes pleasure comes wrapped in a different kinda box that very few are able to open and less would understand.
My dopamine hit is peaked in ways that it wouldn't for other people. I find myself doing a merry dance to find and attain what I need, and that is really cumbersome and frustrating. I'm sure that's true for lot's of people.
Do I think I'm kinky? No. Isn't that for other's to perceive you to be?
Is it hard for me to define? Extremely. One person's extreme perversion is another's good clean fun or interest.
