Just a fun wee topic for all to discuss without bickering 😅

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the past to meet your ancestors or to the future to meet your descendants?

I'd go forward. I'd love to know how my kids and their kids turned out. That would be so cool. It could also be heart breaking but I'd risk it.

Interesting topic. How far back are we talking and how far forward too? Id probably go forward just to see how the world is and how my descendants are coping!! Hopefully pass on a few tips to my kids when I get back... especially if it'll make their lives a bit easier!! How about you OP....what would you do??

No kids and no intention of having any so to the past with me. It would be nice to see my loved ones in their youth

Backwards as at least you know you'll find someone in that direction. Going forward could be met with much heartbreak.

Definitely the past. Much easier than trying ancestry websites to find out about your ancestors .

I don't want to know the number of the bus that runs over me so I would go backwards and get a job as a bus driver.

Definitely past. I'd work my way backwards from now to say goodbye to all the people I never got to say it to, and then keep going..

I'd love that ❣️

Surely forward is the way to go? More mystery and more interesting to find out whats happening in the future as you could read or watch about the past...thats what Reeling In The Years is for! :D

I'd go back to find the truth of some of history's mysteries.

Who was Jack the ripper?

Who shot Kennedy?

What really crashed at Roswell in 1947?

Was Moth-man real?

Was Jesus real?

Where did I leave my keys?

So curious about the future that I’d have to go forward 🤔

But I’d have loved to head back to when my parents were young and have dinner and a few drinks with them to see what they were like.

Great question 😊

1) Almost certainly Aaron Kosminski

2) Most likely Lee Harvey Oswald

3) Most likely USAF secret balloon project for monitoring USSR nuclear testing.

4) No

5) There most likely was a man of that name who died in that manner at around that time. Other than those facts nothing is agreed.

6) The shelf in the kitchen but check the pockets in the trousers you were wearing yesterday.

You're welcome.

Living a normal life span is your time machine.

Knowing from the past what your parents and grandparents were like, from the present how your kids have turned out and for the future you can see in your grandkids the people they are becoming.

Enjoy the ride in your time machine.

Witness some sporting moments I was too young for ⚽️

Sound for that. I'll just go and get the lotto numbers for tomorrow so.

I'm not convinced it was Kosminski though.

Naas which is South West of Dublin

Obviously none of you people have seen any of the Back To The Future films and realise the risks associated with disturbing the space time continuum……..

I’d like to go to the past, I think it would make me appreciate the present and how lucky we are much more.

I’m not sure about seeing the future, it’s not looking great at the moment…..

It may not have been Kosminski but a bloodstained scarf found on one of the victims was dna tested just recently and the blood was found to be from two sources, the victim herself and Kosminski

There's a lot of misinformation out there about that scarf though.

The tests were done over a decade ago and the DNA tested could have been from a thousand or so people in London at that time.

A guy wrote a book about the Kosminski connection and it was him who drove the idea that it was conclusively Kosminski's DNA.

There's plenty of vids on YouTube with experts talking about it.

While it's possible it was Kosminski's DNA, there's no conclusive evidence.
