Planning on going to my first event in the coming weeks….
I understand the dress down/up recommendations… in reality… what do men wear to these events?
I like exhibitionism but at the same time.. don’t want to misread the room 😂
Going by myself too… which could be awkward in itself…
Any tips from seasoned event goers appreciated x |

I’d recommend not wearing ANY striped/checkered short sleeved shirts/t-shirts - hideous. Stick to either a plain t-shirt or a nice one-coloured shirt with folded up sleeves. Nice Levi’s/Diesel (that type) jeans. And for all that’s holy, please DO NOT wear suit shoes (especially black) or white runners.
My 2 cents |

Depends on the event you're attending some that are themed will have a dress code while those that don't would suggest that you wear something similar to what you would wear on a night of at a club or bar dress to impress |

I bought amazing black velcro pants for events of any occasion. If things are going well you can just rip them off or bust out of them like some sort of savage. And because they look like black dressy pants, you can wear them any where and to any occasion. Events, booom rip em right off. Weddings, boom rip em right off. Funerals, boom rip em right off. The list is endless |

At my last social I wore my favourite jeans, formal ankle length leather shoes,a blue cotton shirt, and a black leather waistcoat . I felt good, met nearly everybody in the room, and had multiple meets from that social. I think if you're comfortable in whatever you're wearing, and feel confident you'll enjoy the event. Best of luck. |
