Started watching the Boyzone documentary last night
Hard honest account of the group in my opinion
What the papers did to Stephen Gately when he was only 23 was unforgivable but as the reporter says it was the person who gave the story and not the paper that was at fault
To me it looks like Louis Walsh

I can't believe he agreed to be filmed to be honest as he comes across so badly
Especially when he says It made Stephens life easier not to have to hide the big secret ....the same one he still hides to this day |

I haven't seen it and I've no real interest tbh.
I also don't know the details of the Stephen Gately story, but I'm assuming it was the paper basically bl*ckmailing him into an interview or outing him?
Tbh the paper has as .uch culpability in that situation |

Haven't seen it and don't have any interest, partly because I didn't like their music and partly because I'm not a fan of warts and all documentaries.
I know nothing about any of them and I'm content to leave it that way. |

It was definitely louis walsh outed him out. Look at Ronan's face when asked. He know it wss Louis. And when the paper was giving to louis to look, he nezr enough confirmed it. Was almost delighted seeing it again. |

If you have an android phone you can download KODI app and I stall a video add on and watch it there, they usually have good feeds. |

I have the sky streaming service and it popped up there! It was a honest account of their life in the band. Louis was a prick, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Louis that outed him to the sun paper, all for publicity.  |

I watched it all in one sitting. At times the tears were rolling down my face, and I was never even much of a fan.
Agree totally that Louis came across really badly, even worse he seems to relish the fact he was a knob. The lies he fed to the papers just to keep them in the news, the way he treated Mikey Graham...tragic.
I thought Ronan spoke very candidly about his own behaviours and fair play to him for that.
And to my own shame, I never knew til I watched it that Stephen died of natural causes which I guess is testament to how well the press pushed the narrative of drugs/overdose. So fucking sad. |

After seeing and hearing the promos I actually thought Louis would come across worse. He openly admits to to lying about lots of stuff to promote the band. He doesn't deny anything the other band members said about him but he does deny outing Stephen.
Stephen's boyfriend at the time said they were going to pubs in Dublin drinking pints of Guinness so their circle wasn't that tight. It may have been Louis but it may not as he couldn't have expected it to be as positive as it was for the band as a whole.
Ronan is a cute one. Full of faux apologies but if his solo career hadn't failed when he dropped Louis he'd have never got back with the band.
Fair play to Stephen for his ambition having come from a tough background. |

No I wouldn't watch it for a few reasons but mainly because that genre of music has a very negative impact on my ears and my mental health. In recent years I'm trying to cut out as much negatives out of my daily viewing and just concentrate on positive things. And aren't I just a bundle of joy because of it  |
