I was just thinking how lucky I am to have friends I have known for 30 odd years. One in particular always looks out for me . Has my back . Texts me when I haven’t been on chat groups for a bit. He always turns up when he says he will even if it means traveling for ages. I think I would quite happily give him a kidney . |

I am probably a better friend than most are to me in fairness
I am the one they turn to when there is a problem.
I don't do that I just talk thing through in my head and try to sort myself.
I know I could depend on maybe 10 to 12 of them no matter what the situation was.

Friendships that have longevity can be over rated as time is the value and not the quality of connection in here and now.
Friendships come and go enjoy them while they are fun. Move on when drama presents
Friends I have today we've grown and appreciate each other's growth and unique qualities

In the past I have been really badly burnt by "friends" which has resulted in me being very suspicious of anyone that says they are my friend. Coupled with being neurospicy it makes having friends really hard. I can count on one hand those who I would trust as a friend and they have earned that place over time.
For me a friend would be someone who I have absolute trust in them that they will have my back when times are bad and are there when I need to vent and they will get the same from me 10 fold.
True friends are really those who you could not see for months on end but when you finally meet up it's like you only saw them yesterday. There is only a very few who are in that category for me

I met my best friend in second class,
We always talk even if it’s about nothing. Like brothers but not blood. He’s the one that got me into fighting, and I got him into football.
We argue I’d say 60% of the time but it’s never personal.
We’re coming up to 22 years as friends and I’d kill him tomorrow but I’d also die for the lad. |

For me a friend is someone who has my best interests at heart and I know they won't let me down when I need them. We understand each other and they will give me the advice I need not what I want to hear. We can be 100% honest with each other and always respect each others feelings even when our priorities changed we'd still be there for each other. I'd say I have maybe 3 or 4 of those friends going back 30/40 years. It's difficult to find those ones. |

I’ve one friend we met at 5 years of age. I don’t see each other much or text much but I know he is 15 mins away if I need him and he knows I’m here for him. 2 female friends I met many years ago. Likewise don’t see them very much but I know I can ring or call them anytime I need to. I’ve many fab friends that I can vent to and them vent to me without judgement. I’ve learned over the years to keep my circle small. I can honestly say I feel blessed with the true friends I have and I’d take a bullet for them. |

My ex of 30+ years, he's a better friend than when he was my boyfriend!! He's known me since I was 20, he's been my rock, he's never judged me, just likes me as I am!! He's been there for me through the tough times and happy times!! Couldn't imagine my life without him tbh. |

If I'm tour friend you are one lucky duck and I'm not being big headed. I'm a good friend and I love with all my heart and will give the shirt off my back to you. But after a few hard lessons when it's come to friendships, if you hurt me or let me down. I'm done.

I have two 3am friends, my husband and my lover. I’m lucky, I know 😊
Other than that I do have 2 good friends in vanilla life, both from college.
Fab friends, I do have a few. I went through some hard times and the number of ‘friends’ reduced significantly. Thing which is not always bad… just shows you the real face of some people.
As the saying goes ‘some people come to your life as blessings, some as lessons’ |
