Star Trek! Always preferred it, it’s actual Sci-Fi where as Star Wars is fantasy in space
True....
But if i say XWings...bet you can hear them...
If I say I am your Father...you get that too...
Has Star Wars trumped Trek in popular culture?

I loved star wars. I have a lightsaber and still collect the odd stuff but man I can't love it like I used to. I haven't watched much star trek outside of the recent movies but maybe someday I'll give it a go
I bet this will be a trek sweep. |

Probably as there is just something so comforting about the shows we all watched... Pickard..just reminded us of thoes times with fondness...
The star wars movies, apart from the new kelvin timeline... were just movies.... they didn't land in your bedroom each week...
Still i like all the new Star Wars stuff too x |

I am an absolute trekkie and will regularly watch the films when they are on. I was in my late 20s when saw Star Wars for the first time and while it was good could never beat star trek. Saw the 1st series of Picard but I havnt had time to watch any of the newer shows. I had many a nice dream about Counsellor Troy and SevenofNine 😏😏😏 |

belfast/Down, but can travel. |
My favourite is Star Wars as it came out when I was a kid.
I do like the original Star Trek as well, as it was always on TV when I was a kid.
I can make the Vulcan V sign with both hands. Useless bit of information for you all. |

Remember the excitement of going to see Star Wars back in 1977 but don't remember going to see any of the follow ups
I'd watch any of the Star Trek films if they're on the telly but never really cared about any of the TV series |

Star trek all the way, first got into when as a kid we'd go to my grandparents on Christmas day. Movies would always be on in the evening after we'd finished dinner. Loved it ever since. That said, section 31 movie is pure shite. |

Both.
I've seen every Star Wars and Star Trek movie in the cinema when they first came out.
My memory of the original Star wars movie is of sitting in a grotty old cinema that was falling down and every laser blast on screen brought a piece of ceiling plaster down on the roped off seats in front of me. It was 4D cinema long before it was a thing.
I've lost interest in the Star Wars world created by the TV shows and thought that apart from Andor and the first 2 seasons of The Mandalorian they have been weak and unnecessary.
The Acolyte and Obi Wan have been the laziest TV I've seen in a while.
Star Trek TV shows are mostly more intelligent and interesting but they aren't all perfect either.
I know the Star Trek universe much better than the Star Wars one but I'm not a Trekkie. |

Yes Star Trek for me for all the reasons referred above . Stars Wars will always be remembered as a big cinema experience and of course the toys when I was a kid but Star Trek is far better once you realise it actually has a bit of a brain behind with with the parallels to social issues and politics of the day. |

Star Trek no competition for me to be honest.
Star Wars is just the same story over and over again.
They are both so different.
The Expanse , that's a universe that I hope gets more seasons, that blows both of them out of the water as it stays kind of realistic. |

I would have always watch both, Trek and star wars. And I will never apologise for using up all the tissues after episodes with Seven of nine 🤧. I would have preferred star wars movies over star trek series but thought the trek movies were always very good too. I wouldn't say one was better than the other a they were all good entertainment.
I did find it interesting that star trek had transporter machines but they were never a thing in star wars movies. |

North Meath, beyond that there be dragons |
Ok then, Star Trek for the TV series and Star Wars for the movies. Although there are exceptions. Andor is an excellent TV series while Star Trek 2 (Wrath of Khan) and 6 (undiscovered country) are good movies.
However a lot of good alternatives out there, recently got the Babylon 5 blu ray box set for a rewatch. In modern times The Expanse is an excellent watch.
But no need to choose, I have room in my nerd brain for all of them, so long as they are written well. |

"Love it, didn't realise there were so many of you geeky georgeous ones on here!....
Trekking is the way atm it seems
Next question....
Seven of Nine vs Princess Leia?
Picard vs Obi Wan
Q vs Vader
"
Seven
Picard
Q
And yes, for some reason there are a lot of geeky people on Fab or we were just lucky so far finding them |

By God there was Ashoka and Book of Boba. It's sad that skeleton crew was meant to be pretty good but nobody watched it. I can only speak for myself but I don't think I'll ever get back into Star Wars like I used to be. |

I love both, each for reasons of their own.
Star Wars wins on toys as a kid. Flying the Millennium Falcon, taking down an AT-AT on Hoth with your Snow Speeder or whizzing through the forest of Endor on your speeder bike.
Beating your siblings with a Light Saber and not getting into trouble for fighting 😉.
You just didn't get those experiences with Star Trek.
Also the deeper story going on, with Anakin joining the dark side all to try and save the love of his life.

Star trek for me. Probably as it had more media for me to watch as a kid/teenager as it was onsky TV all the time.
I'm missing out on nu trek as it's only on paramount and I'm not paying them just for trek. |

Star wars for me. Star Trek was never really on so I never got into into it. Tried a few times but it just doesn't click with me.
Return of the Jedi is probably my favourite Star Wars movie. I think the storyline is brilliant and I get some laugh off the ewoks |

One on the single greatest moments ever in TV, it was electric, goosebumps and tears. |

May the force be with you, as you live long and prosper... "
