It's just a half day warning really isn't it? Boring stuff but I need some milk & bread anyways so will buy the usual amount and not like these brain donors who'll go out and get an extra 12 litres of milk and 16 extra sliced pans...

I've a power bank charged up for phone (Fab really...) backup

All I ever need is ammunition chocolate and zero.

The zero and chocolate to keep me sane and the ammunition to take the supplies other people have hoarded 🤣🤣🤣

Nah, I'd often only have a cup of coffee in the morning and nothing else until late afternoon so once there's coffee in the house, be grand sure.

I'd say people are worried about loss of power and therefore stocking up a bit.

I myself have charged the power bank and done nothing else. Was debating hitting the shop at lunch but I hate people.

That's a good heads up from the Rubs 'wan...

I took the bins and stored them inside the shed, plants in under cover, anything loose like spare tiles and bits I had lying out the back that could take flight. Parasol dismantled and taken in. Heavy weights on the BBQ cover.

When by the coast, large garden or farm items like bins, benches, wheelbarrows, animal feeders etc can become very small indeed when they get some sustained 150 or 160+++ gusts🌀🌬🌪

I remember a few years ago having to remove a small car-trailer from halfway up a tree with the teleporter here🤭

Laugh about it afterwards as we are well used to violent storms here but would not have been fun for such a thing to blow through their patio door 🙈🫣🫣🫣🫣

Stay safe and don't do ignorant shite like going for swims or going hill climbing and needlessly putting others at risk.

I love a good storm. Logs are chopped, loads of porridge, two eggs, a few oranges, half a baguette, enough for a day. Chainsaw ready, spare fuel, batteries charged. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to cancel plans for Saturday, ah well, bend with the wind.

This is so funny. In the last bad wind our climbing jasmine came away from the wall and I've not managed to convince it back yet. It's looks very depressing. Also removed kid/dog nonsense from garden that will become missiles, and put down the trampoline.
