He has so many hard-core supporters and Crypto Bros that will just lap this up. They'll throw a few quid at it, just to say they have a few of them. They won't be worried about it's value and he'll rake it in.
Such an easy grift for him. This is his last chance at presidency, expect to see lots more money making schemes over the next few years |

"It's the official scam organised by Trump "
Meanwhile Joe Biden's in last minutes of presidency he completely degrades his position by pardoning his entire family and friends from future prosecution but Trump is the bad guy |

I'll put money on it that he'll try and change the term limits from 2 to 3 over the next few years |

Buckle up, tinfoil hat time! I read somewhere that this won’t be a rug pull in a traditional sense. It will be used to accept bribes from other people/governments because it’s basically untraceable.
Bear in mind that Jimmy Carter put his peanut farm in a blind trust to avoid potential conflicts of interest and other ethical concerns 🙃 |

"Trump pardon 1500 rioters… mad
Guys walking around in funny hats = Rioters"
Sure look at couple of people disagreeing on a sex site about the president of America is neither here nor there
No one is going to change anyone's mind it just adds people to your list of fuckwits and your blocklist in fairness |

Lots of topics on the forum have absolutely nothing to do with 'sex'. Maybe stick to sex related topics if that's all you are interested in and keep your nasty remarks to yourself. You are literally on here every day posting in a wide range of topics. |

Calling people 'fuckwits' is nasty last time I checked, also you are calling fab a "sex site' when many of the topics have nothing to do with sex and indeed many of the people posting have never actually had a sexual meet with anyone of the site either so calm down and be nice! |

Some of those pardoned where the proudboys who have a slogan of six million were not enough. Now I'm not the biggest fan of Israel and it's current genocide but to think that people who deny the holocaust are some of trumps biggest supporters leads me to think that maybe trump has fascist tendencies.

It is interesting how our impressions are shaped by media. To be honest anyone proclaiming Biden good, Trump bad is talking nonsense. They are both terrible people and both incredibly weak presidents.
But for the last number of years, when it comes to politics, all I can think is that Olaf Sholz is right there, just openly and blatantly being the most disgusting, corrupt politician in the western world...and not a boo out of anybody! |

For me when you are having a debate or discussion about a topic like the past or present president of America and you resort to name calling it showed what type of person you are, doesn't matter if its one person or a group of people.
I'm kinda shocked to see someone would block another person just because of their political view, but then again, it's all down to preference.

Blocking is just another filtering tool. If there's people that I'm not compatible with because of their views I have absolutely no problem blocking them because I know we are not compatible and I don't want to interact with them. It just saves time.
I also block assholes, pricks, racist's, right wing nut jobs, trolls and dickheads etc
Along with the occasional virtue signalling white knight.
It's a crap shoot really. |

Fuckwits was used as a general term
I'm sure the people that support Trump think those that don't are fuckwits and vise versa
It's generic really ....wasn't aimed at anyone specific in the thread |

Completely agree.
Unfortunately a large section of Western society has got used to cancelling anyone who doesn't share the same opinion as them. People previously could enjoy a healthy debate without name calling or insults. Cancel culture is in its dying days in America & UK, Ireland as per usual, won't give it up until everyone else does. |

I've read back through the thread and I still can't see where anyone was called names. There's a general reference to "fuckwits" but it's not in reference to anyone in particular. Maybe there are no fuckwits anywhere in Ireland but I have a suspicion that there might be one or two.
As for the thing about "cancel culture", people have been blocking and getting blocked here for a long as this site has existed, and it will continue into the future as well I'm sure. It doesn't mean anyone is being "cancelled", whatever that means, it's just a way of filtering out incompatible profiles. It's normal. |

I love this power of the block button....
Wow .
Please don't block me 😂😂😂
Block this 🍆💦💦💦
No-one cares
Blocking would be excellent if it had every piece of nonsense the person you blocked posted.
It would be like lots of the Rings with none of the boring Frodo stuff.
Its not though, its full of people that voice their differing opinions.
Fuckwits, dumb dicks, dumbfucks and all.

Ah Michael...there's more than 1 or 2 fuckwits in Ireland! Sure Leinster House is full of them!!! Which begs the question....what do we call the people that put them there?? I'm fairly certain a few of them could be called fuckwits too!! Inanyways.... stick's and stones and all that!! |

I've only ever blocked one fella and that was for messaging me every ten minutes asking to suck my cock. Jaysus!
Lots of people look at profiles and block simply because they're not interested and it will mean that those people they're not interested in no longer show up on searches. It's common practice and makes sense. Surely you know this? |

Sometimes I block people because they are just generally argumentative and negative craic.
Or because their status updates are annoying or I don't like their photos.
Or they seem to come on to the forum just to start a bun fight.
It's a very versatile tool in fairness.
I once blocked a woman because she complained so much about people blocking her.
I'll happily block anyone who voted for Trump too. |

If someone expresses views that are wildly different to my belief system I block them. I block people advertising drugs or bragging about taking them. I block people who consistently message me and don’t understand that no reply is a reply. I block people that I feel display a penchant for drama. I block people who post statuses and threads that make me want to vomit.
I block them because I don’t want them having access to my profile, my pictures, the ability to mail me - my corner of fab.
That isn’t cancel culture. I’m not telling anyone else to block them or bar them from events.
I will never understand why people get so pissy about someone they’ve never met, and will never meet, blocking them. If me blocking you annoys you, you need to find a hobby. |

Ah come on, cancel culture?!
Someone on the forum saying "I think Trump is great" and someone else thinking "ah, I think Trump's a bit of a cunt actually" and blocking them because they don't want to interact with them isn't cancel culture
Now, if they go "nah, I'm not having that opinion shared on these forums" and then start contacting and influencing others forum posters to ignore/block/demonise the aforementioned person we might have a case on our hands... |

I was in a bar in Spain not too long ago with some mates at the pool table. Another Irish fella started interacting with us. I initially thought he was a bit of craic until some filthy racism came out of his mouth. So, I told him to cop on, grabbed my pint and moved down a bit.
My mates asked why I'd stopped interacting with him all of a sudden. I just said I wasn't standing listening to that kind of shite.
So... just out of curiosity, in your eyes is that cancel culture?
Or... just me making a choice as an individual
I didn't advise anyone else around to not interact with him
He still continued to hang around the area and knock the craic out of plenty of other lads |

Eh debating something and saying racist stuff are on different levels and definitely not the same thing for play for just walking away because I'm sure many others would have hit that person a slap to get them to cop on. |

Oh no totally it's a different level! (it was wild honestly...)
And not trying to suggest it's any way similar than saying Trump's a cunt 😃
My point is would my reaction to it be viewed as cancel culture? |

No that reaction wouldn't be like cancel culture at all. But beating some sense into him probably be the better option though. I respect everyone's opinion on every subject regardless of disagreeing with it unless it's racism. But ill take their opinion and try understand where they are coming from, instead of refusing to see their point in a debate. |

"If someone expresses views that are wildly different to my belief system I block them.
Exactly this I block people for whatever reason I want it's not cancel culture it's me blocking who I deem worthy of blocking. I'm blocked by loads of people too I'm sure they have their reasons too and thats what I like about the world people have a choice of who the like or dislike |

"Ah come on, cancel culture?!
It's the same attitude/behaviour, I don't like your opinion so I'll delete you.
It's a culture that thrived but is now dying.
I didn't advise anyone else around to not interact with him
He still continued to hang around the area and knock the craic out of plenty of other lads
Eh debating something and saying racist stuff are on different levels and definitely not the same thing for play for just walking away because I'm sure many others would have hit that person a slap to get them to cop on. "
Here is the root of it all "saying racist stuff"! Show us an example of any "racist stuff" in this thread? |

That was a personal choice and it wasn't a debate. You certainly didn't 'cancel ' him. A wider issue is however what people define as 'racism'. In Ireland at the moment if anyone criticises people who abuse our International protection system they will immediately be decried as racist. Its not possible to have a fact based discussion on the topic. |

I said in the post after it I wasn't equating racism to a debate on Trump or anything similar though. I never once said there was any racism in the thread either, I'm not sure where you pulled that one from...
I was just asking if you'd have deemed my case your version of cancel culture. That was all, like it was just a question.
I've seen hordes of people deem people and businesses boycotting Conor McGregor's products as cancel culture too. If I don't want to buy into brands associated with a sexual abuser, I'm not doing it just to sign up to cancel culture... it's just an individual choice (again I'm not insinuating anyone here would say I am)
Anyways the thread is veering off on a tangent about international protection here and is nailed on to just go around in circles. I'll bow out 👍 |

Cancel culture is a social phenomenon where individuals or groups face public backlash and social or professional consequences for their actions or statements that are perceived as offensive, inappropriate, or problematic. This often involves calling out and boycotting the person or entity, typically on social media, leading to a form of ostracism or "cancellation." Critics argue that cancel culture can stifle free speech and lead to disproportionate punishment, while supporters view it as a way to hold people accountable for harmful behavior.
I wonder just how much noise is actually real noise, Mel Gibson seems to be one of the first people I remember being cancelled, it had a good head of steam until it broke on Joe Rogan, it really did feel disproportionate and too easy to throw stones from behind a screen.
I don't think that's what's happening here with different opinions.
I do agree it is a plague. |

"1) This isn't cancelling or cancel culture
2) Cancel culture is bad. Give them enough rope to hang themselves."
Blocking someone who's opinion you don't agree with is very much a symptom of 'cancel culture' in Ireland. Go do it by all means but it smacks of arrogance, intolerance and narrow mindedness.
As to "give them enough rope" comment, it's a similar arrogance, "I'm right and because you disagreed let's watch you pay.
Thankfully that entire intolerant culture is in its dying days.

There are lots of people on these forums I don't agree with.
Some I disagree with now and again but on other topics I may not have an opinion or find myself in agreement.
Others are just absolute cunts who throw grenades into the forum with ridiculous comments deliberately designed to wind people up.
Then there are those who don't have an original opinion of there own and just agree with whoever has the best tits, even if that means agreeing with the opposite opinion 5 minutes later if a nicer pair of tits arrive.
If I decide to block someone on here for any of the above reasons I don't announce it in public and demand that everyone else blocks them too.
I block them so they can't see my profile and make snide comments on the forums based on that.
That's not cancel culture, that's just changing the channel because I don't like the programme that's on. |

You can keep equating getting blocked as getting cancelled but it won't make it true.
You can keep intimating over and over again that cancel culture is dying because reasons but no one is taking the bait.
You can try to derail the discussion by bringing up racism and the 'international protection system' but seriously like, wtf. |

How intelligent
"Everything I say is right because I'm a super amazingly virtuous pick me guy"
Go to a different thread instead of childish "wtf remarks. |

Id defend anyone's right to say something I disagree with in public (as long as it's not illegal/defamatory etc). That's because I'm anti cancel culture. Unpleasant/bigoted/stupid people out themselves fast enough. That applies in every public forum including this thread as well as someone making a speech or sending a political statement.
That's a different thing to choosing individually to not directly communicate or choosing to filter (block) any other individual. That's not cancelling. |

Cool we finally agree
The block part of the conversation was always only about blocking because of a difference of opinion.

Surely being censored here or blocked from posting certain comments would be akin to the notion of "cancel culture"?
Blocking someone from messaging you is nothing at all like that.
Anyway, I want titties. |

Would a Hitler 'tashe get you cancelled?
Is that allowed anymore?
Depends on whether you're a man or a woman "
A foolish man but a brave woman 😂😂😂...
Will Trump's hairstyle suffer the same fate? I wonder did people laugh at Hitlers tashe like we laugh at Trumps rug ?

"Godwin's Law wins again 😂
Had to Google. I am committing this to my brain for future threads.
Also hoping to involve said law as much as possible going forward "
I used the term on here years ago and felt very smug that nobody else had ever heard of it.
It came up in a random conversation in a pub I was doing work in and an old guy propping up the bar used it to describe his neighbour who loved starting rows over nothing and then resorted to calling anyone who disagreed Hitler. He explained it to everyone in the bar at the time and I tucked it away for future reference. |

I don’t understand why you’d block someone whose opinion you don’t agree within a thread, or in all threads. No because I disagree with cancel culture but because it’s pointless.
I’ll still have to see their posts. They can still reply to me. I can still reply to them. All it stops is them seeing my profile and potentially DMing me. But based on forum opinions that would be unlikely.
Why block? |

People have been known to screenshot pics, contact peoples veris etc etc all because they’ve disagreed with them. Blocking them avoids that risk. |
