“I know your face from somewhere”

Carrickmacross

I walked into a business meeting on Friday afternoon, never met the guy before.

Did all the pleasantries etc, and he says “I know your face from somewhere,” and my immediate thought was, “Oh, I wonder if he’s part of a couple on Fab, and I’ve sent them my facepic?”

Is it just me or is this everyone?

Right up your street

You might just have ‘one of those faces’.

There are only so many combinations of gestures anyway. Sometimes you go to a new town or city and see someone’s doppelgänger.

A nice rock

Fab would honestly be the last thing I'd think of if someone said that to me.

I guess it depends on how much activities/organisations you are involved in outside of fab

I used to walk dogs so I'd usually say you must have seen me out and about walking a dog or two!!

I'm terrible remembering faces, I'd be more likely to recognise someone's dog

It happens but generally on fabulous I think people are better at not pointing it out. I've had it at three different supermarkets and it's just a discrete glint or wink rather than the full on contact. Mind you I had seen action with all three so they definitely had no doubt on where I was recognized from.

I'm pretty good at recognizing face, just can't remember where I saw them before.

Names I can never remember.

I walked into a fab social a few years ago and people I'd never met or chatted to walked up and called me by my name.

They said they recognised me from my pics in the chat group.

I hadn't been in any chat group for about 2 years at that stage and hadn't been in the one for the social and wouldn't have shared a facepic even if I had been so take from that what you will.

I get that a lot OP. It seems to happen at the most random moments too.

Most recently an Australian woman in a bar in Galway approached me and was convinced we met before in Oz. I've never been to Australia. It was cool, we hung out.

Maybe the matrix is broken.

Now if he said I think I recognise you , have I ever come across your face before 🤔, then I might think fab

somewhere

So most people but especially women get dolled up to show themselves in the best and sexiest way possible on their fab profile

Then while in work a woman comes up and says "Hi Bog "

You haven't a clue who she is until she says" I'm X"

You know she's on fab because she knows your fab name

Then you realise you've met her at some socials and had conversations with her or even a couple

It definitely throws you sometimes

Met a bloke at the coffee machine in the petrol station a few weeks ago

I'd spoken to him a few times in DV8 and played pool against him but the fact we were both going to work it didn't compute with my brain

When he said do you not recognise me I did ask was it on fab

Thank God he said yes or I don't know what I would have said next

Even during Covid when we had to wear masks people still feckin recognised me. A neighbour that was from where i grew up and wouldnt have seen me in near 20 years came up to me in Aldi and said hello. Id have people saying hello to me in tesco and that and ive no idea to this day who they are. Theyre probably from the schools or clubs but im useless with faces. And names.

Basically my takeaway from this is that i will never be an undercover agent which kind of sucks

Sounds like the matrix could indeed be broken!

How to fix it tho?

Dee got recognized a few times in her single female incarnation due to her tattoos. Jay use to get recognized a lot when he had his face pic up back in the day. Doesn't really happen too much now though apart from the odd mail here and there.

I'd hate to be with my GF, who doesn't know I'm on here, and someone comes up to me and says "Hi Deen".

I'll have to reply, I'm sorry that you're mistaken, I'm XXXX my real name.

I might get away with it until they produce a face Pic of me in the nude.

That might become a bit more of a problem
