Anyone else read too much into old wives tales? Like today, don't put on a wash as it will wash away the luck of the year.
I'm itching to get the house sorted and washing done but I read too much into the old wives tales to allow myself do it lol.
Anyone any others they follow the rules of?

Ice cream van only plays music when all the ice cream is gone. Some old wives tales are very logical but most are crap today..... Like not to eat certain meat with a certain letter in a month etc... I've a book on this stuff if anyone wants more |

I think the ice cream thing is more a trick so children won't torment parents for ice cream at stupid o clock when the ice cream can decides to come around more than an old wives tales lol. I never heard of the meat one now tbh. |

Always salute/wink a single magpie and just noticed 15yr old child doing same last week. Feel guilty for passing it on but I wouldn't wish bad luck on anyone so...
One I recall was don't stick your tongue out at anyone because if they give you a frightening it'll stay like that.
Another one was being made to stick your tongue out if your Mum/ Dad thought you were lying. They could tell if you were being honest/ dishonest by it's colour  |
