I actually do 🤣
I had the worst flu ever. Like horrendous. New Year's Eve afternoon my mum brought me several sets of fresh bedclothes and some new nightwear because I was constantly drenched with sweat.
I'd insisted that everyone should go out and enjoy the celebrations and that I'd be fine, then spent the night delirious, crying and calling them all the names under the sun for leaving me on my own 😆 |

I was 13 years old. So fairly hazy recollection. Fairly nerdy (shut up, I grew out of it and I'm cool now 👀/into computers at the time and trying to wrap my head around what the whole Millennium Bug/Y2K thing was about. Nothing happened. That's about my whole taking from NYE 2000... |

At my bosses house for a party and given responsibility for the fireworks.
There were about 50 people at the party and on the stroke of midnight the local council had a piss poor firework display 500 yards away that lasted less than a minute.
The 200 people who had turned out for it all appeared at my bosses front gate and watched the display we were putting on instead.
Left the party at 2 am and in work for 7. |

I recall my main worry wasn't Y2K, but whether I looked old enough to sneak into one of the local discos with my older cousins - not sure if I slipped in unnoticed or if the bouncers took pity on my for trying, but had a great night!
Also seem to recall some of the local pubs thinking they could get away with charging people 80 quid in for the start of the new millennium (about 150 equivalent today!) but subsequently getting a reality check when only a handful of people bought tickets - they ended up having to refund a bunch of people and charge a tenner on the door like any other year! |

I was on a beach in Australia drinking and listening to music with friends. It had been lashing rain the night before but thankfully cleared to let us enjoy the big night under the stars. Awesome 😎
Nice memory, Thanks for the thread OP |

I worked in a Government Dept and some of us were on call in case some of the IT systems had issues with Y2K
So no alcohol or no parties and I had to go into the office to run system tests etc for the following week.

"I went to a fancy dress party next door as the Millenium Bug
24 great pics in your public gallery and yet all I can think is that there was one of this 😆"
In 2000 I didn't have a phone with a camera |
