I love to declutter.
Fill your car up and take a spin to your local recycling centre. There will be an area for everything.€5 entry fee.
Anything of value donate. St V de P have vans and drivers that will collect large furniture. They know 80 % of donations are of questionable quality or resale value, and at least 20% should be good.
Clothing that's not good enough to donate, can go to clothes bins.
I burn personal papers/paperwork. |

Should say all donations should be decent enough, it's just 20% is brand new quality and 80% used, out of date, upcycling quality.
Anything not good enough for donation, goes to recycling centre. |

I had to clean out my parents houses after they passed,, after that experience I have a very minimalist lifestyle, no frills. I bin or recycle clothes books etc if not worn or used in the last six months. |

Apparently we should all start seriously decluttering from mid 40s on, makes it easier as we age.
I ld be tempted to downsize once the duckies have flown the nest. |

If that's the case I should be living in a totally empty space by now.
But regular trips to the recycling centre/charity shop are a good idea. |

I'm always decluttering. Im living in my sisters house and they are home from overseas next summer. I dont want to have the same amount of crap moving out.
My advise:
Sell or give away stuff on Adverts
Have a black bag for clothes near your bedroom or wherever to put unwanted clothes in for charity
Recycling centres are great for broken items also. |

Starting on my new year decluttering in the next couple days once all the christmas decos come down
I go room by room because if i just did bits here and there id never get it done. Starting with my own room and then moving to kids and then downstairs.
Important paperwork filed away. Anything else burned. Clothes gone through. Etc. And ill have to tackle that flippin attic as some point also sigh |

It's a good thing Tim go for it, most charity shops will take things, clothes banks all over Ireland to, i did this last year alot of stuff I never used or clothes I ever wore, just don't dump it lol |

I have to do my shed ,when I declutter it mostly goes into the shed🤣🤣🤣 I tend to hire a skip once a yr and just go for it....no mercy.
Anything fully working, in good nick,goes to V de P,the rest in the skip.Otherwise recycling centre is a cheaper option. Happy decluttering,great way to start a new yr.
I'm also going to declutter my Christmas decorations, some ancient bits that need to be binned ....quietly lol |

If it is just a drawer I give myself 20 min only on that drawer, and put a timer so I don't go over it, mainly because my mind starts wondering and I will leave it half done if I don't put a timer.

Already started for the new year. New totes filled with my lingerie collection filled ready to move to the attic. Lil ones room gutted. Onto my playroom now tonight and that will be a mammoth task with all my equipment and toys to sort |

One of the best things you can do for your mind....I tend not to accumulated too much stuff as I declutter regularly....except shoes I find it very hard to part with any..definitely put a time limit I usually do a room a day including cleaning |

Only decluttering I struggle with is clothes.
I have quite a lot of everyday clothes that are barely worn or tags still on some but too tight on me. 🙄
I refuse to get rid of them and buy bigger sizes as that will just give me approval to get bigger. So I hang on to them and try to eat less.

Same here! My wardrobe is bursting at the seams but I only wear about 30% of it. I have nice clothes I hope to fit into in the future (2025 will be the year!) and tonnes of stuff that I have nothing to team with. I just need a bigger wardrobe  |

I replace jocks and socks twice a year
If new one go into the drawer then old ones have to go out of the drawer
I have a fierce collection of shirts especially everyday ones
So again if I buy new then the old have to move out of the wardrobe

I buy new things but rarely get rid as I just add to what I already have. There lies my problem!!

Only advice I have is to not try nit pic what’s not needed, take everything out and try decide what’s worth putting back.
So if it’s a wardrobe, take everything out of it.
If it’s a big box of cables/plugs, spill it out
