"I'm atheist and my Christmas looks pretty much like everyone else's.
I have friends who are Witnesses and they still had a family day together, pretty much the same as everyone else "
I'm the same. I enjoy Christmas but I don't follow any religion. It's about family and friends and spending time with them when I'm not in work.

Same. No religion is required to enjoy the celebrations at this time of year. Giving presents, decorating a tree, and enjoying the darkest days of winter being behind us have fuckall to do with celebrating a fictional birthday of a fictional character. |

Yule log or bûche de Noël is a traditional Christmas cake, often served as a dessert, especially in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Lebanon, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Quebec, Canada. Variants are also served in the United States, United Kingdom, Cambodia, Scandinavia, Portugal, Spain, and Japan. |

I think it's ok to pick/choose/steal the things you want to co-opt. The Christians do that too, wearing clothes made from different fabrics for example that is strictly forbidden. Most religions are a pick and mix of ideas. The hypocrisy is when they have hard-line judgements (about a man laying with a man for example) for other people, but seemingly completely ignore other parts for themselves. |
