Hey all. Just curious, are many of you car enthusiasts. Are you part of any groups? Do car meets/cruises 🚗. Not interested in boy racers here please. Iv got myself one of my long time dream cars, and would love to find a nice community to connect with, and would be nice if had the fab connection to. |

What's the difference between a boy racer and a car enthusiast? Is it the car he drives? The money that he has to buy exotic cars? Or what? I'm really curious tbh...

What is the difference between a car enthusiast and a boy racer?"
Good question. A car enthusiasts doesn't drive their car like a nutter, they respect the rules, and do everything to keep there car spotless. Pristine paint, polished and basicly it's a show car and there baby. A boy racer trash there cars, drive reckless, and dangerous. Doughnut in middle of road and in the end, it's does screw up the car a good bit. The problem you can find though is some car enthusiast have a bit of that boy racer in them, and ya need to keep it in check often. Haha |

"Define boy racers ?
I'm a car nut have a few Subaru gtbs studied Motorsport engineering in the UK "
I did above. Main difference is boy racers take to the road and do stupid and dangerous shit. Most car club for enthusiasts don't allot that behaviour at there meets to avoid the attention of the garda.i use to be part of celica ireland for over 10 years. It was the same then. Sold my celica years ago as priority changed to family and kids. |

Can't agree more. I remember the first time I drove s civic vtec. Omg, the feeling you got once it kicked in. Was simular with my celica. Had gen 6 and 7. Also had a evo 2 rs. That was qick to. The golf r actually is quicker than them all. But doesn't stand out a mile and attract unwanted attention.. |

Dream is to import a classic American muscle car when I get the money together. Drive a lancer ATM, love it. Evo out of my league hahaha, tax alone is a killer, even if you could afford the insurance. Used to own a vintage motorcycle as well |

"Massive petrol head here. Daily is a C-Class Coupe. Have a 1977 Rolls Royce as a vintage. Just bought an L200 for offroading and I'm always on the lookout for an old American Muscle Car!"
Iv seen 1 or 2 old school American muscle car around. Not many though. Would love to get myself my own "Eleanor" 1971 Ford Mustang, or a Shelby Mustang GT500 would be nice to.. hard to beat them. |

Evo was awesome, but I actually started with 1.6 glxi lancer. Was dam good car. I'd hate to ask what the tax is on a evo. My golf r is 2.0 ltr tsi 4wd. It's 162 reg, and only 600 tax for the year so it's actually not bad. Plus it's 310 bhp. Evo was only 285. |

A standard mitsubishi lancer of the 2005 generation are a truly under rated car they sip fuel and cost little for tax And insurance if we could find another one we could be tempted |

Cars and Coffee is a great gathering for enthusiasts. There hosted in several places, Dundalk, Co. Louth has a great meet up every month. Mondello Park hosts several events such as Japfest, 86fest etc. Dubshed for the German Car Scene. Depends on where you want to travel etc. Several facebook pages to keep you updated on events etc. Well wear with the new car K |

I had two classic cars few years ago, I used to join regularly classic cars events but then sold them, changing priority. Still have a ‘06 CLS 350 back home, not a classic but it’s a beautiful car and a joy to drive |

Newer model myself, 08. But great car. Do work on it in the front garden and she keeps going. 1.5mivec engine. Pretty happy on fuel and quick enough. Was a dream car of mine to have so it's old now, but love it. And if I get my American muscle car I'll still keep the lancer. Even upgrade to a newer model |

I think your looking close to 2000 a year tax. The lancer I have is a 1.5mivec. love it. I pay 114 I think every 3 months. Poor man always gets screwed, friend bought a 2.2 liter Mazda and pays less a year on tax cause it's a newer car. |

Eventually, someone talking about cars. Hahah
I have:
2016 Audi S8
2007 CL63 AMG
2014 ML350
The S8 is an absolute rocket. There’s a good few cars and coffee meets in Little Island. I most start going over to them again. |

"Car enthusiasts : how much would a litre of engine oil be, roughly? "
Sorry, I didn’t answer your question. It all depends on the quality etc. Try get it in a motor factors. It’ll be a good bit cheaper than a petrol station. |

Thanks, the light came on, so I stopped at a tyre, servicing place abs they charged me €15 for I believe a litre of engine oil and also filled up the water for me. Just wondering if this was fair, seems reasonable to me.
I m more curious than anything else. |

It’s not overly expensive. They didn’t completely rip you off but didn’t do you any massive favours. It’s only €15 I suppose and it got you sorted though so how bad. When did you last change the oil in your car? |

I service my car, most cars unless uge engines take about 4 or 5oitres total when changing. 5lt off micks garage is anywhere from 30 to 70 euro depending on what you want. Like someone else said, don't ignore it if it's burning oil. Check the dip stick weekly to be sure it's not low. Risk doing damage to the engine otherwise |
