Hi so, I was wondering what people's views are on Filtered pics of people. Do you think that it's OK to touch up how you look?

Or is it a way of hidden the real you?

Is it a way for a person to hide who they really are, so as not to be recognised?

Asking for a friend lol.

Depends what you mean by filters?

I crop pics and adjust the angle and lighting because I like finding new ways of presenting myself, but it's all me.

If you mean Snapchat filters or similar, I don't use anything like that.

Whether or not it's dishonest is debatable but from my point of view if I see half a dozen profiles that are all carbon copies of each other because they've chosen to use the same filters, I wonder what the point is?

You either want to stand out from the crowd or you want to look like everyone else.

The only people they are fooling are themselves.

A nice rock

I don't think it's even the type of filters you use as much as how honest you are about it.

We all want to present our best selves.

But clearly I dont walk around in black and white. And I definitely use shading and cropping to present the best me

I use lighting and crop the background but that's it. What you get is what you see. Why bother. I'm 50 I have lines and I'm curvy.

The pub then supermacs ...

I crop and use colour filters all the time but never filter my body shape can't see the point in it, or downloading pics from the internet and passing them off as your own that's sad really resorting to that, i know how to take a good picture but always tell people to never judge on pics alone we always put our best side out....

All our pics show the real us yes some angles are better than others. But we are by no means super models and I think our pics show that.

It's face filters that I think do no one any favours.

Unless you can actually turn up looking ten years younger I don't see the point

Editing photos is okay until you change the whole perspective of who’s on photo.

I do appreciate good recent photo.

Don’t chat with people who are using AI and Snapchat filters or photos from before covid
