Hi all, nothing serious Just wondering when people start their Christmas prep and celebrating. Or do you think November is too early. When we were young Christmas tree and decorating was done the Saturday before (roughly 7 days. And removed on the 6th of Jan .

It's ridiculously early and it takes all the good out of Christmas. There used to be something magical about the season of Christmas, now it's been rendered crap.

There is a simple test for this.

Is it December?

No - Then it's not Christmas

Yes - It's Christmas

Cannot stand the Xmas music in the shops. Anything before December is too early in my book.

Totally get it but someone like me who works all the parties and stuff I don’t get to celebrate until next week or Jan so some have to be early

Also I think there is just so much to do now trying to fit it all in

WAAAAAAAAAY too early

Christmas is uber commercialised, it's not even jolly any more.

As a person who spent 16 years in hospitality and retail I have ptsd from having to listen to Christmas music 16-18h a day for 2 months every year and looking at different variations of tinsel.

Missus

Yes, Xmas is bitter sweet for many, many people. Forced joviality can be tiring on people.

Currently in the canaries, and v little Xmas crap around the place. Perfecto.

A nice rock

Around now is the perfect time to start warming into it for me.

Have a cup of tea in a christmas cup atm and a christmas work night tomorrow

I think since Covid myself and my two little girls celebrate everything a little more than we used to. Once the kids are grown I guess it won’t be the same so for the moment I’m just rolling with it and the tree is going up next weekend

Each to their own. Thankfully we never went mad at xnas. Even as kids my parents never did a big thing for Xmas. It always amazes me when I see people shopping like the shop will close for a month

I was away last year and it was lovely. This year will b a quiet affair as usual.

But I would decorate all year around if I could.
