As we can see by the results coming in, it looks like Trump will be the next president of America. With Vance, Elon Musk and RKJ been on his team.
So what do the people of fab expect is going to happen with him in charge for the next 4 yrs. |

I've seen some stuff on line about Robert Kennedy Junior being an advocate and champion of reforming the food industry in America surely the average American dem or rep can appreciate that ?
On the bigger scale does it make much difference who is in power when you have the same powerful lobby groups lobbying both sides hedging their bets to ensure their interests are protected and advanced. |

Whilst I’m depressed but not surprised by Trumps win, I take solace that in his first term he demonstrated that he never does what he says he’s going to do, which is some sort of a relief
The wall never got build etc etc

So The Trump supporters voted for him and the Harris supporters voted for her. That left the people in the middle to decide who won. And even though the vast majority of people say Trump is unhinged, a felon and will ruin the world the middle ground still voted for him. That's how badly the Democrats ran this election. Noones saying voters were thick. In the overnight coverage most "normal people" interviews were concerned about the cost of living and believed that trump will somehow reduce prices. Also they believe he will reduce or remove taxes and replace them with tariffs. I think maybe hopeful/naive would be better words than thick |

It's refreshing to see that Democracy exists. The majority of Americans- "where we don't live" voted for Trump. It seems that the majority of Americans disagree with the majority on here. Let's remember that the Democrats have been in power for 16 of the last 20 years. The world was better when Trump was president last. It's Vance that's going to be interesting - young and extremely clever, some of the negatives for Ireland might be some of the Trump ideas around tariffs and how that might effect us. Oh good Lord, tariffs will make imports more expensive = less attractive, it may grow domestic manufacturing, it may not be possible. China for example is built to produce the world enabled this, US is not anymore. It's the incentives he'll use to get large American companies to pay more of their taxes in the US. Tariffs will effect the importation companies the most. How do you see it as a just an issue for Americans on increasing prices.
We should build our relationship as a nation with Trump, and in future maybe not be so vocal in picking sides. |

On a separate note my crypto currency has gone 26% this morning due to Trump winning. He wants to make the US a crypto super state, and with Elon Musk now heavily involved I may now invest in some more Doge Coin, Musks favourite currency.

The US or its companies might choose Ireland based on many factors—our skilled workforce, for instance, or even a positive bias from an American president. It’s simply not true to say that being in the EU puts us at a disadvantage.
The US and its companies need to trade and establish European headquarters, and they’re free to pick Ireland, as they’ve consistently done for decades. We have a long history with the US, and while we might not offer more favorable trading terms than another EU country, there are plenty of other ways we’re viewed positively—and this has been proven over the years. |

It's a pretty divisive subject.
I have followed it more than any other American election and found it fascinating, Prime Time.
The Democrats fucked themselves 4 years ago when they screwed Bernie and Biden got in , still reckon someone else was pulling the strings behind the scenes. They fucked up again with Kamala, she was a bad choice.
The Republicans fucked up by trying to take away women's right to choose but the people decided that, that wasn't important enough. It's scary to think that Trump was the better option.
Someone said democracy is fucked , that's not true , just because the person you wanted to win didn't win. It's called democracy because the majority choose. There had been way too much of the minority telling the majority what to do for too long and now the evidence is the push back of the right.
At the end of the day , very little will change.
The money going into Ukraine will continue, it's basically the US buying weapons from themselves anyway, most of the money isn't for aid.
