A WOMAN'S SEX DRIVE AFTER 40...

Now I don't go looking for this chat  but have managed to become embroiled in it a few times. A few female (non-fab) friends  have said that their sex drive has totally shot up in their 40's 
One theory is that it's natures way of getting a woman to "pop out one more baby" and so oestrogen and progesterone levels change
I'm sure there's other factors but would love to know what your take and experience is on this??

Yes, it's pretty common for women s libido to surge, just before their fertility takes a nose dive.
At 45, I would say my libido is healthy enough. Fluctuates with monthly cycle though, and as the cycles go a bit haywire, that creates issues with sex, hard to predict the timing of your cycle. |

Oh absolutely. It’s like a switch flipped when I turned 40! I can’t seem to get enough and always craving more and more sex. And I’m 47. I’m really enjoying it though 😈 |

This thread gives me hope for the future. My wife’s libido went through a steady decline through her thirties and is now completely out of commission. I’m hoping there’s a revival in her 40s - that there’s something for us to look forward to on that front, because the alternative is quite grim.
Sincere question for any of the women on here: when you say your libido increased around 40, what was it like beforehand? Did you find yourself losing interest in the years before things surged? Or was it more like it was always healthy and then became extra strong in your 40s? |

Dipped then revived. So yes, it can come roaring back.
Lots of factors : hormones, young kids, work stress, health in general. Just lightening the fuck up. I think it ebbs and flows for lots of people. |

I’m always turned on. To the point that I’d have sex everyday and masturbate of available. It’s not all fun though. It’s had its ups and downs. |
