Fab Dating Scene?

Okay, so I’ve tried dating vanilla but it’s not working. I’ve had someone one here that used to join me on occasion with others, but it wasn’t a proper relationship. I tried that other dating app for alternative lifestyles but there aren’t many Irish in it. I keep thinking there must be SINGLE people like me on Fab, who want to date/have a relationship and occasionally swing. Am I mad for wanting a relationship/romance and occasionally swing too? When I’ve dated vanilla and then been honest about swinging they look at me like I’m a Jezebel! There must be someone like minded in Dublin who wants this too?? Is there a singles group I can join Here on Fab for this? |

Why not date from here. Do you mean the alternative site that has lots of kink in it, because you mentioned not many Irish folk in it but I see the Dublin scene is really vibrant. I met my partner through that scene in Belfast. Today is the 5th anniversary of another couple who met on that scene. And last week a wedding of another couple again. It's great we have platforms like this to meet like minded people. Sex positive and kinky. Why shouldn't it lead to romance as well! |

Hello there , single female here also , I can resonate with everything you have said . I have so many thoughts on this ,
A lot of the problem on here is finding the actual single men, maybe it’s just my experience but a lot of single men aren’t actually single men .
I’ve also tried a dating site and I don’t really fit in there either .
I have a singles group
And I’m also hosting a singles event in cork on the 28th December .
Maybe we should organise a singles social in Dublin ?

You could start a thread stating single looking for other singles for monogamous dating and try and keep out the attached. At least they'd be identifying themselves through the things they say and/or obvious cues and you can put notes on their profiles as they come up.
Something similar could be made for those interested in Poly/ENM and maybe that's were the attached ones will go. Not that they would be wanted there either unless they are genuinely poly or ENM and can back it up with a call with their OH. |

There's a lot of fab single men that are married and on the other hand, there's a lot already in situationships, have lovers, partners and fwbs.
Talking to men here, I've found that they aren't actually looking for a bona fide relationship. A fwb or a partner to swing with, yes, but nothing more. That seems par for the course on fab. And no, I'm not speaking for all men.
There are lots of men and women that enjoy wining and dining and having the full romantic date experience, but again, nothing more.
Sorry, although some have gone on and found great relationships through fab, it isn't the norm.. I'd keep my expectations low and just maybe, a romantic fwb situation, could evolve into something beautiful for you.
I'd be cautious too, there are men that love to play in this realm, that are very economical with saying what their true intentions are.

The only reason I wouldn’t look here for a relationship is the net is very small and I can’t be arsed with dramas when it goes belly up. I want to be someone’s one first and foremost (not one of the ones) and all other experiences are about us doing them together. It can be a dangerous kid in a candy shop situation here if that relationship isn’t formed first and some boundaries get blurred. Everyone is different but Fook I would hate to be faced with an ex everywhere I went here. So no ‘fab coupling’ lol as some of u know I hate that, no falling for anyone, no letting anyone in from here. I’m happy as I go riding solo. I think for many single men signing up here, the site is recommended by somebody else or seen by somebody else. I don’t think many single men are true swingers. Many single guys sign up here looking for sex, let’s be blunt about it! Many obstacles get in the way of that though and those single lads lose patience very quickly. |

I recently joined a singles WhatsApp group on holiday, which quickly became infiltrated by small party organisers, who observed everyone and tried to control interactions.
I suggest setting up your own singles telegram group. Making it clear what your intentions for the group is, Singles get togethers etc.
The party planners have their own agendas. |

I think from this thread there seems to be a want/need for a SINGLES fabbers dating group. I’m terrible at organising these things if anyone wants to volunteer? The real benefit of fab as a single man, is that everyone is hopefully honest and upfront about what they want. In vanilla land that is not always the case, it may start out that way but can and does change over time. Will the same not happen here ??? If it turns into an alternative dating site.

Know at least 3 couples, who have met through our events and are also going strong. It's not unreasonable to want to get romantically involved with someone who has like minded aspirations. Everything is possible.

"It’s just like real life to try to date here, some connections will work, some will fizzle out and remain friends, some will be mutually beneficial, some will end badly. The only reason I wouldn’t look here for a relationship is the net is very small and I can’t be arsed with dramas when it goes belly up. We met at a Swingers social 12 and half years ago , still going strong , great to meet someone who you can have a relationship with but also be in the swinging scene, so best of both , we told our family we met on a night out lol we know of other cpls who met on here and some even got married and still swing together

Seriously though, it sounds like you want a Polysexual lifestyle. Myself and @SamanthaJones_LetsPlay are both Polysexual and enjoy playing with other people together and separately. We're also Polyamorous so we enjoy being in multiple romantic relationships too.
I would never suggest that it's for everyone but for us it's who we are just as we're both Pansexuals. It's just us.

Like all long standing groups, it goes through stale patches and changes of people as some couple up or decide to take breaks or just get bored. But when the right people are in at the right time the friendships, socials and even holidays are great fun. It takes energy and participation to keep a group going, and I think CG, that formed the group has done a good job. I have made amazing connections there over the years. |

The first time I tried swinging I was already in a couple and it was a part of our relationship to explore our boundaries as a couple and spice things up a bit. And speaking to other couples, this is quite common.
This time I'm coming to it as a singleton, happily single but open to the possibility of meeting someone who is equally open-minded for something more regular. Maybe an FB/FWB, maybe something else, but the swinging experience is different this time.
I'm therefore thinking that any relationship dynamic will also be different given the already presumed acceptance into that relationship of other people.
It'll be interesting to see how my journey pans out but sorry for the rambling post that didn't really go anywhere... |
