I find some of the words connected to people's sexuality or definitions of their relationship to be very confusing but at the same time educational. Its a whole new vocabulary. Polyamourous was just the beginning, "non-committed sideways humping, only on a Wednesday, single file please gang-banger" type of thing. Each to their own but not everyone understands this language. Every day is a School day and the urban dictionary is a great help. |

My language and words:
Polyamorous - I am capable of being in romantic love with more than one individual at a time.
Polypartner - An individual whom you have an ongoing romantic relationship with that would appear to the world as a bf/bf bf/gf or gf/gf relationship. You may have more than one polypartner and each polypartner may have different Polypartners. The boundaries and "rules" of the relationship are defined by the individuals with not strict rules pre-existing.
Polysexual - I am not monogamous and enjoy sex with multiple overlapping and ongoing partners.
Pansexual - Gender is irrelevant to me and I can find attraction (physical, sexual, romantic, intellectual etc.) in anyone. I generally require a genuine connection for that attraction to develop.
Sensualist - With regard all interactions with a partner or play mate, my focus is on their pleasure and enhancing their enjoyment as much as possible. I obtain tangible pleasure from making others happy, especially physically.
Dragon - I play in group situations with attached partners of differing sexes where I enjoy pleasuring all partners regardless of gender.

So a straight single person just playing the field is a solo-polysexual, and a bi person playing the field is a solo-pansexual ?
It just seems like labels for the sake of it sometimes.
But each to their own 🫵🏻😘🤘🏻 |

Incredibly insulting for not understanding, that's not very understanding. An insult is either sustained or destroyed, not by the disposition of those who insult, but by the disposition of those who bear it.
Maybe acceptance and inclusion are just words bandied to suit. |

Bisexual means you are attracted to a gender that may be male or female or non binary (and includes trans males and trans females) because you are attracted to them as humans AND because of whatever gender they are, present as or even choose to cast off the label of gender as a consious act.
Pansexual means you are blind to their gender. It's not relevant. You find them attractive because of the human.
I'd say I lean Pan but I regularly call myself Bi. And that's because someone being hyper female presenting or male presenting is sexy to me. Like girly girls and gruff men. But romantically I could see myself falling for a personality over gender. |

It's just an opinion. Hardly an insult. And to be fair. History will look back on this decade as the age of labels
Kind regards

And how do you feel about racial labels?
Are you as happy using them?
Do the KKK just have an opinion? |

I'm not going to get into a back and forth about labels. It's not something worth getting all het up about.
You can't police words. People use them how they see fit and that's ok. |

So this thread was meant to be about people explaining terms that people may not understand and turned into an exchange about 'labels for labels sake'.
It us an insult when that's the reaction someone has towards a person explaining terms and taking time out to do that. That's what the thread was for.
I really don't get why these exchanges have to and continue to happen more and more lately. It just seems to be a race for the person to pull apart people's comments lately.
I'm pan, also poly - I sometimes say bi because of the eye roll and I get tired trying to educate past the eye roll. I applaud those with more energy. |

Ah cmon. It's an over reaction. We went from a flippant comment about labels to INSULTS to the KKK.
It's easy to see where the escalation originated |

Considering how intimate and personal the topic is, we see it as natural empathy to try and understand what the people we meet mean by the terms they choose to describe themselves.
And well, we're not even quite sure what we are ourselves apart from kinky and curious. But once we explore some more, we'll appreciate having words that will help us find and engage with similar minds. |
